Watched more of Dentler/VDM vs Travis/Myles, at one point Dent blocked like 4 straight balls, getting up higher with deeper knee bend, put ton of balls over on 2 for easy points. Based on what I read about AVP America, teams are encouraged to stay together as they only garner team points not individual points. If this is the case, Dent/VDM will be teamed up for majority of events into Huntington. They will be a fun team to watch, except when playing the top 4 teams. I'd put them around the McKibbon's, at the back end of the MD.

For example: the team point value I earned with my partner last tournament was 102. The individual point value I earned was 51 per AVP America rankings. It would make sense (as a team) if my partner and I both earned 51, together we earned 102. Cali events like that one might be scored differently, but as I understand it AVP America you do still just total up the individual points of each player to equal "team points." Obviously please correct me if I am wrong

This board is boring me to tears, let's start a list of new teams for 2019, even if we've kinda done this, I'll start Casebeer/Zaun Piotr/Frish I am also bored to tears. This offseason is feeling way too long. Fort Lauderdale was supposed to be next week 😭

Thanks. I stand corrected. The wildcard series I guess you need to stay together. My bad. Will be interesting to see who comes out of that

They seem to be untouchable in the qualifiers, winning six in a row, but at the same time can't do anything in the MD. Anyone know why Sauter and VDM split? Of the quali type blockers (anyone below Troy Field for example) anyone think they have seen enough to try a ranking of maybe the top 5-10 or so? I'd be curious to see what people think. Dentler gets really good partners so it seems like he is held in high esteem despite some poor results

Just watched it, and the final from that event. He looked better, good blocking and he wasn't spraying balls out which I think is a big change from the times I saw him this year, but I'm still not convinced he is more than a top level qualifier guy. His offense is not exactly dominant. For example when Travis set up on his line and basically let him swing angle, he was getting dug a lot. Did love his line swings though. His passing and setting aren't really notable. Also the blocking seemed to be much more effective against Myles and Honar - the little guy in the finals - both 6'0 or so (I know Myles is supposedly taller but didnt look it), whereas whenever Webber got a good set he was pretty much blasting it by the block without much trouble (of course they were getting points so frequently on bad sets, may just not have needed to adjust) I think in both those matches if you traded defenders, VDM still wins. I was very impressed with how much Webber has improved. If he stays dedicated he is a main draw player within two years. His physical skills were much better than when I saw him play with VDM at the start of the year with and he looked much more coordinated, made some really nice plays dropping and digging whereas before there was some definite giraffe on ice.

I'm a PA guy and know Dentler decent. The other part of this is that he is just a really great guy. Nobody has a bad thing to say about him. My guess is that plays a big role in his ability to pull consistent partners of quality

Shame Hudson retired it would be pretty amazing to have three Patriots on tour.
