If you could make an all star team from your choice of any program, what would your lineup be??
for Stanford I would choose
MB folukea ajanaku
OH plummer tom
S gray/bugg
RS walsh-Jennings
L hentz
ineterested to see who you all choose for your programs !!
also, not sure if this already a thread.... I know there is a greatest players from a program thread, but I haven’t found an all star team thread.... if there already is please leave the link and I apologize for making a new one !

It will be interesting g to see how this thread reflects the age of the poster.
Obviously you are younger.
Not sure how you could leave Kristen Fokl or Bev Oden off that list. Or Bryan Kehoe for that matter.
Just another case of recency bias.

Again another thread with either, All-Star, The Best, All-Time, The Greatest, line-ups/players from your favorite program(s). And we will see the same names over and over and over and over and over....

I am familiar with the older players, as the years go on the level raises however, dominant players in the 80s would not be as dominant now. I debated putting keyhoe on the list but thought bugg was better and i like grays size and serve. Plummer will most likely be 3 time player of the year so if that’s recency bias then I guess I am bias for a 4 time first team all American. Hentz is the best libero to come through the program, will be a 3 time first team all American as a libero and was co mvp of the NCAA championship as a libero. If mine is so recent and bias, make a better one with facts to back it up

I was a huge bugg fan and even I know kehoe blows her out of the water as a setter. Stanford has had a long list of setters as well that you could include. Oden was also a 4 time first team AA.

I think bugg is better in tempo than kehoe and that’s my opinion. That’s why I created this thread, so people can put their opinion there, if you don’t agree with someone’s then make your own team. Telling me someone is better than someone doesn’t change my opinion. I didn’t choose a single player that was not a first team AA. All except one were multiple time first teamers. Clearly none of them are outrageous choices.

She also led stanford to the finals 3/4 of her years. Bugg could never do that, even with AA all surrounding her. Kehoe was probably one of the best setters in the 2000-2010 era, and out of the last 20 years, shes up there as well. I would be hard pressed to find anyone else who would take bugg over her

I’m not choosing bugg as the starter regardless.

Bev Oden: The first 4-time 1st team all American, player of the year, honda/Broderick winner, pac-10 POY
Kim Oden - 3x AA, 2 time player of the year, 1 time Honda Broderick Award, 3x Pac-10 player of the year - player of the Decade from the AVCA
Kristin Folkl - 4 time AA, 3 national championships. Her career record at Stanford was 125-8. AVCA player fo the Decade.
It is a tough crowd when these players don't make your All-time list for a school.
