So, it's the off-season and I'm bored so I'm going to throw this topic out there for fun.
Hypothetical Divergent Universe: Some eccentric billionaire has decided to create a pro-volleyball league in the United States. All US players(No internationals) currently eligible for pro leagues are available and salaries are such that they have all committed to play in the league if selected. The billionaire in their eccentricity has decided to name you General Manager of one of the teams because he likes your VT personality. There are ten teams in all and players will be selected in a snake style draft and draft order will be select on the night of by placing the ping pong balls into the hopper. Max contract length is five years. What does the top(1-2 rounds) of your draft board look like?
AN: Yes, I know that was a very long winded way of asking people to rank US pro-players, but I like team building more than straight ranking. Who do you guys/gals want to build a team around?
AN2: Also, we will not be weighting the ping pong balls for next year so tanking does squat for you.

As a fantasy football draft this would look pretty similar: most owners opt for terminal OH/OPP’s in the early rounds (your RB/WR’s). An elite young setter you want to build your team around will go in the first round (Carlini/Poulter), the majority of owners will draft their QB 3rd/4th round once the real elite ones have already gone by. MB’s are not directly correlated to any FB position... they’re wholly more valuable than the TE spot but you’re not going to find many to build a team around. Hence, a few will go in the first 2 rounds... maybe 3-4. And then expect a slew in rounds 3-5 to go.
Liberos are kickers. In literally every sense. They’re considered as valuable and thus will receive similar compensation.

Fine I'll bite. With the number 1 pick I'm taking D. Hooker.

Hypothetically of course, this happens and there is a big commotion, it would be perhaps the greatest expansion draft we have ever seen in regards to what happened with Vegas and what we will soon see from Seattle. Is there any one player that is a Junior or Senior in college that you would trade a current pro that you draft, for multiple draft picks in a future draft, knowing the league will be stable and whatever current pro you take may not be the best for a long term team situation? Also what would be comparable value as we have seen some college studs just flat out not cut it overseas or in the USA pipeline?

I'm not a fan of small leagues made up of 10 teams. It's always the same teams playing the same teams, over and over again. I'm in favor of bigger leagues, granted you need more $$$ to maintain it. Possibly 32 teams, covering cities from sea to shining sea.
