Let’s assess my qualifications: *I can’t hit balls anymore *I have fake nails, so that must be taken into consideration when assigning my duties *Computer knowledge is limited to Facebook, Instagram, Words With Friends, and VolleyTalk *I need to be in bed by 10:00 *I will provide a scouting report to BYU if ASU plays them *College girls annoy me Seems like an ideal job for me.

SO I see a lot of these "volunteer" coaching positions available with no pay or benefits, do they have other jobs and just come during practices?

Sometimes you see a volunteer be somebody who's a bit more established and/or has other income, so they don't need to worry about it. Sometimes a volunteer is the spouse of the head coach and maybe runs a club on the side, etc. But I think most commonly, a volunteer position is a short-term commitment from a young coach looking to gain experience. You might work a job on the side, be involved with a club, do camps, etc, to make ends meet and then you're either hoping to get hired as a full-time assistant by (sometimes) that school after an assistant leaves or (more often) you get hired by another school who has an opening.
