Hooker signed with Galatasary in Turkey last season, but later and of the sudden she changed her mind and she said she would not play for them anymore. The club was blindsided. She signed with Osasco, but she only showed up 2 months later from the date that she was supposed to. Her excuse was that she had visa issues. She did the same thing with Minas the season before and her excuse was her passport expired. This is not what a pro does. All the Americans even the ones that were in Japan, showed up on time, and none of them had visa or passport issues. I think her problem is that she thinks she is entitled to do whatever she wants and whenever she wants. She won`t follow rules like everyone does. Like her season will start on the date that she feels like it and not on the date it is scheduled. Her numbers this season are not even that great, she only had a handful of great games. Game 1 of the quaterfinals she only played well in sets 4 and 5. In the first 3 sets she scored like 5 points only. Lowe and Drews are putting up much better numbers against better competition. Let`s see how she does against a actually good team (Minas) in the semis. Ok, fair enough. Had no idea she was still acting like a diva. Entitlement is such a touchy subject in which I have no answer. But it seems to be the American way. When are those semis ?

Entitlement is such a touchy subject in which I have no answer. But it seems to be the American way. When are those semis ? 1. Even if we accept all of the above as true (which we won't), showing up late for club season and switching clubs is reason to kick off the best opposite arguably in history from the USNT? That's "fair enough?" Hell, Karsta Lowe decided international volleyball just wasn't her cup of tea, and then was welcomed back with open arms. Kayla Banwarth didn't even play for a club the year before the Olympics. 2. The poster provided no evidence that there was any contract breach or anything in the Galtasaray-Osasco switch. The switch also happened within a few days in MAY (way far in advance of the next club season), and there were only reports from the Turkish media regarding the original agreement. If there was a real breach/issue, Galtasaray would have issued an official statement. Tango obviously doesn't understand club contracts. Source3. The visa/passport issue was discussed on this forum and dismissed pretty quickly by other posters that it was a product of her being a "diva." Even the Osasco coach/manager acknowledge the hurricane delays, the passport delays, and that there were delays on the Brazillian side. Another Brazillian source stated that it was up to the club to take care of all of the arrival logistics. Tango also obviously doesn't understand the complexities of visa processes. This poster takes any chance they can get to twist and contort facts/data to tarnish American players. You shouldn't let them convince you of anything.

You guys think the players are really in charge of handling their own work visas?

This would be the year if Hooker were to return. If she's able to abide by Karch's team rules then why wouldn't she be given a shot. Her Brazillian teammates seems to love her. Last time we were in Brazil she was getting quite a bit of heat in-arena. We asked after and the locals did not have favorable opinions of her. So I think even abroad she’s a polarizing figure. were the locals that you asked fans of her team or the opposing ones? hooker has tons of fans in brazil and made a market out of it. i believe that it was one of the reasons why she did not go to Turkey as the country has become a comfort zone for her.

No idea, probably the opposing team. She was called a diva, which if they were fans of the opposing team, case in point made. She stands out and remains a polarizing figure. I would bet there are people who would love her or hate her in any market she played in.

The poster's implicit point was that Hooker doesn't deserve to be on Team USA because she's a diva for reasons pertaining to visas and switching clubs. "Ok, fair enough" reads to me as a concession. I.e. "you're right." I pointed out that the Tango's post was biased and false. It shouldn't have received an "ok, fair enough."

First season she said she her passport expired and this season she said she had visa issues. AGAIN...I`m not making this up....These are facts. Google it and u will find it. I even forgot to mention. When she signed to play in Italy a few years back ...she got injured, but then she simply left the country and came back home...only problem....She did not inform the club....she simply left without letting anyone know. www.volleywood.net/tag/destinee-hooker-injury/
