So can anyone DEFINITIVELY tell us about USA Volley paying players who DON'T qualify? If Billy/Miles don't qualify, B & M pay 100% of trip?

So can anyone DEFINITIVELY tell us about USA Volley paying players who DON'T qualify? If Billy/Miles don't qualify, B & M pay 100% of trip? Not definitive, but I assume they get some stipend for being on the USAV “training team”. www.teamusa.org/usa-volleyball/usa-teams/beach-volleyball/beach-national-teamsI suppose if they move up in the FIVB rankings, they’ll get promoted to the main national team and presumably greater benefits. But I can’t imagine that any travel reimbursement for a particular event would be strictly tied to whether or not they get out of the qualifiers.

Casey/Chase dont have the toughest draw, thats probably the Ricardo v Ranghiri bracket, but both the French and the Chinese could beat them. If they play steady and avoid mistakes they should get through though

As there are only 29 qualifier teams, Grimalt cousins, Ricardo/Alvaro, and Saxton/O’Gorman get first round byes.

Tough break for those guys. Two weeks and four points and their month could have been extremely different. Adrian goes out too, fairly easily. I wonder if travel affected either of those teams.

It looks like Budinger/Patterson (5 seed), if they win their 1st Q match, get Rossi/Adrian (12 seed) in the 2nd round. Those who do well in a previous tournament do not necessarily do well in the next. 😉 there have been a few previous cases like this. I called it! Adrian and Rossi do not make it past Round 1 of qualifiers. But Grimalts riding high against Germans Fluggen/Ehlers.

Ranghieri/Caminati playing Ricardo/Alvaro at the moment. And Grimalts playing Germany right now.

Anyone got a link for the live scoring? The fivb website for the tournament has live scoring on the top. Some of the betting websites might have too. Still looking for a site to watch the games live...

And just like that Saxton/O’Gorman fall to Estonia. It’s really not been the same for Saxton after Chaim decided to change federations. He’s been dwelling in 17ths.

If Casey/Chase don’t win this, it’ll be a tough day for USA as well. They lost the first 17-21.

They go down. Bad day. I think Casey is done. Not sure why at his age I feel he has no more hopes “not that he had much”. I saw a few of his hits on perfect sets hit the top of the tape and they wasn’t even straight down hits and they have no power any more.
