Does he start over Carl Apehlback moving forward you think? Maybe not yet. Apfelbach is a proven point-scorer, blocker and great at the service line. He's also proven to have some really bad off nights. The former outweighs the latter. I do think Nsakanda is going to get on the court more often. And let's face it: Chakravoti just has a way of making players even better.

UCI was a big tease, teasing Ucsd that they could actually pull off the upset. But in the end UCI just gave Ucsd a big heart breaking loss on Valentine's Day.

Isn't this the third straight year this match has gone to five between these two, with UCI winning each time. It's starting to seem routine.

Last year's national player of the year and a top Canadian battling it out for the starting spot the next few years. It seems as if some of these top programs have elite talent on the bench. Good for the gym and for the program.

I think apfelbach has played outside before also, so it's not outside the realm of possibility in order for both nsakanda and bowles to be on the court together.

They went 5 with UCSD but they will be ready for the Bows. And I fully expect them to pack the Bren too. Bows better watch out.

The Bren will have a GREAT crowd, but what I've learned in the multiple decades of working MVB is that Hawaii travels well! They always bring a great, lively crowd to energize visitors' venues! March 1 & 2 are just around the corner! Better get your tix! Who knows-- I may give up my season tix for a die-hard volleyfan here!
