It's Beach and Hawaii, no other team need bother, those two are infinitely more potent than any other squads this season. If I were betting right now, I'd take HI to win it all, great size with zero glaring weaknesses.

I just hope that Hawai’i does not fall to any other teams until BWT.

UCI and Pepp may both drop a couple of spots in the ranking after losing both their matches this week. And, UCSB and UCLA move up. Long Beach likely gets all the 1st place votes, UH all the second place votes. But, UH removed some doubt this week. They can play on the road, against the #3, and get a match and set sweep.
Results to date, I think Hawai'i moves up a bit into the elite tier with the Beach. The Warriors are still the #2, but the perceived spread between them and the Beach has narrowed. The next strength tier down are the super strong teams: UCSB, UCLA, Pepp, and UCI, with Pepp and UCI trending down, and UCLA and UCSB trending up. Next tier after that are the strong teams, occupying the 7-15 spots in the poll: Lewis, Stanford, BYU, Loyola, USC, CSUN, Purdue-Ft. Wayne, George Mason, Ball St. Lewis had a nice win at Loyola this week, they should move up. USC took down Concordia-Irvine and upset Pepp, they should move up. Stanford and BYU split, but BYU pressed its home court and clown refs advantage to the max to get its win in Provo. At Stanford, they were competitive but destined to lose. Stanford stays ahead of BYU in the rankings.

I wonder when players get hit at their faces, shouldn’t they follow concussion protocols? In the third set Solbrig got smacked by Schneidmiller but he stayed in to play. Him and Gasman get hit a lot.

Hawaii sweeps, so are they legit now? They should receive first place votes next poll. If David Kniffin (UCI coach) is a poll voter, he may give his 1st place vote to Hawaii....so it's a possibility ;-) LOL

Also UCI is screwed at setter position both now and in the future. Dante is marginally decent player but not elite in any one area and that backup has no confidence, he was horrid opening set tonight. UCI looked like a high school team playing professionals both nights, embarrassment and they're done this season. No chance of getting in NCAA after this double beatdown. I haven't seen if UCI is recruiting any setters. Have they signed setters for next year? Maybe go the JC route to get someone? So next year Garicia is the setter? Who will be the back up?

I hope I'm wrong for the sake of the player and for UCI, but I've said in the past that Garcia is not a D1 setter. He's certainly not of the skill level needed by a team of UCI's stature. I find it hard to believe that Kniffin was counting on him being the setter next year. Perhaps he was surprised by Farmer's departure. In any event, I think he needs to be looking for a setter. Even if Garcia is the starter next year, I don't think he has another underclassman setter on the roster right now.

I honestly think Garcia just needs confidence on that court. He seemed extremely uncomfortable to me when he was out there.
Give him a year to get that going and consistently working with the coaches and players to establish that. In due time it will happen.
Gotta give them young man a chance.

It is a big challenge for a true freshman to start against the #2 ranked team in the nation. He can get better with more experience over time.
With Farmer gone, I am surprised they haven’t signed any setters from the 2019 class.

It was a buddy of mine. It's a long story but essentially, the feed didn't have commentators. From what I understood, because we ended up with commentators it was able to go on the ESPN3 feed and not the Big West.

It was so fun-- well, with exception of my team getting beaten twice. Had a chance to speak to Rosenmeier, Cowell, and Joe. Those are some good guys. As a team they seem like they are in a REALLY good place. Parapunov's confidence is strong and Telle coming off the bench to fire beebees is impressive. Add on SVT and what Charlie is doing with the middles on the backslide to open the bic-attack up more and you have got an even scarier offense to defend against. Oh, and Gage is a superfreak-- anything he touches seems to give a point-scoring opportunity for the 'Bows.
