Monkhouse and especially Sparks looked so solid today. I’m not sure May keeps her spot in the top 5 pairings to be frank.

Monkhouse and especially Sparks looked so solid today. I’m not sure May keeps her spot in the top 5 pairings to be frank. Sparks is just so good. She doesn’t have the size, but can still bang and has amazing court vision and placement. As deep as UCLA is, I don’t know how you can keep her out of the top five pairs.

Bruin beach volleyball washes Pepperdine Waves away with 5-0 sweep dailybruin.com/2019/03/07/bruin-beach-volleyball-washes-pepperdine-waves-away-with-5-0-sweepThe Bruins won without dropping a set, and handed the Waves their first-ever 5-0 loss in program history. "I expected it to be a war," said UCLA head coach Stein Metzger. "They’re known for being very good in their environment, which is typically windy. We’ve been working on our weather volleyball IQ for years now, so this is just a really special win for the program." UCLA junior Savvy Simo: "Whenever there’s rain at UCLA, we practice in it. We travel out to Santa Monica to get some wind practice in. Our coaches do a really good job of putting the wind game into our minds."

^^^ Hard to get any closer than that FSU vs USC match! All 5 matches went 3 sets, with USC squeaking out the #1-3 pairs (two of them at 15-13), and FSU winning the 4's and 5's. The rematch on Sunday should be very exciting.
