“I’m super grateful to Georgia and Canada for being able to work it out,” Black said. “The two academic semesters will be all Georgia and in between will be Canada. Winters and summers. It will work out.”
Interesting

I am sure they will figure out the details - and the Devil is in the details! I like his spin on “I am in charge of all 18 and over Womens volleyball”, would be nice to see more structure and impact there- and also see them work on the pipeline leading up to Senior Women. VBall Canada has been doing a decent job of fielding Youth and Junior National teams to create a pipeline of future Sr members, but It never seems consistent or ongoing. No Junior or Youth Team this year, just a U17 group...... This type of scheduling creates havoc for future years. A lot of top Canadian talent goes to the US to play their University years which makes it difficult to participate in Canadians national events. - last years Team Canada Junior Women graduating 2019 Tiffany Westerberg - Hawaii Cecile Max Brown - Oregon State Parker Austin - UNC Chapel Hill Emily Teehan - Columbia Hayley Armstrong - Indiana
Canada should start developing their university age athletes with programs like the Americans have, With summer Programs and consistent development opportunities.
It all comes down to funding, Canada has a pay to play policy due to lack of funding and it impacts the development of their athletes.

And most of the college preseason takes place outside of an academic semester (and in the summer).

And Canada's most important tournaments happen during the semester, but apparently the Canadian Federation was OK with it, so. . . .

Ben Josephson from Men’s Trinity Western University Team (located not far from the Richmond Oval) is an assistant and the Canadian USport competition season does not start until October, so I am guessing that he and the other Assistant will be driving the boat when the “Captain” is in Athens

Nice to see Tom Black representing Team Canada at the USport Nationals in Edmonton this past weekend. Not an easy place for him to get to and shows he is “all in”.

Outside of hockey (and maybe larcrosse and curling), do Canadians care about their team sports? Kidding of course....

Lol, very true but replace lacrosse with soccer and you have hit the nail on the head - Lacrosse players need to go elsewhere to play after high school - no Canadian University or Pro opportunities The good ones head to the NCAA

I was disappointed that Black didn’t talk about the current members of the Canadian National Team, e.g., Emily Maglio.
