And he needs to do it NOW not later. As we all surmised, Gibb is in rapid decline and Taylor is only going to get a look at so many Olympics, he needs to figure out who to call and do it NOW. While Phil is not happening by all accounts, he should go with Chase, at least he is still in his physical prime and they looked really good at Laguna last year winning it all. All I know is I'd rather take my chances with Chase than Gibb at his point.

Taylor has his issues but this partnership isn't going anywhere of importance as it is, time for a switch up, Tri would be great as well.

Funny someone just posted on other thread saying gibb carried Taylor. Lol. Taylor isn't playing great either but it really feels like this partnership has run its course, time to refresh things, the unknown is better than the known right now if I'm Taylor.

I kinda agree but I think you go make 2020 with gibb because when playing well they are our 2nd best team. Then swap it up. Let tri and chase play more and see how they do. If chase keeps getting better go with him or if tri stays healthy get him

If chase keeps getting better go with him or if tri stays healthy get him I was the one that said Jake carried Taylor but in all fairness I was saying that off one march against China. I do like your point about staying put for now. It’s so early and Jake has spent most of the offseason rehabbing so I think it’s a little premature. I do think that Tri-Taylor looks like the best team for us post-Phil, and I even traded comments with Tri about this on IG about a year and a half ago when Tri was still working his way back. That team would still have a helluva lot of shortcomings but where else do you go? Also to your point I do believe it’s best to wait at least another year and see if Chase develops more. I have a sneaking suspicion that he will plateau and remain his same gifted but underachieving and performing self.

Taylor has not distinguished himself in this event, but if he does drop Jake the one player who is definitely not the answer is Chase Budinger. Whats good about him? Jake executes every single skill better than Chase and in none of them is it close. Same is true for most of the US blockers

Slick, Brunner, Jeremy, Trevor and Doherty are all younger players and all much better than Chase. Say Taylor switches to Chase right now, he spends half the year losing in qualifiers and country quotas. Maybe in 18 months, Chase becomes as good as Jake is right now, which seems very doubtful, but Taylor ends up in the same spot.

He hasn't proven a high ceiling thus far, and I see much more potential with Taylor/Slick or Taylor/Jeremy. I also wouldn't be opposed to seeing the Crabb brothers reunite but I know they have their issues and that's just me lol
