That's ugly. I feel sorry for the son, actually.

That's ugly. I feel sorry for the son, actually. Not so sure I do. I mean, he resigned from his job for "health reasons", but reports are that it was actually because he was under investigation for sexual harassment. Then Dad arranged for him to get into a graduate program at USC. I'm quite sure that a 34-yr-old is under no illusions about why USC is suddenly paying him to do graduate work.

When does the sc water polo coach's trial start? He's one of the last holdouts to not cop a plea.
Corruption abounds at that place.

Thanks for the clarification. I totally do not feel sorry for him now.

So we've ripped the covers off and seen the seamy underbelly of a corrupt system that favors the wealthy and privileged and discards the unwashed masses....and one of the main instigators is going to get less than 46 months in the can?!?
It's a big club. And we ain't in it.

Soooooo exactly the same as every other school in the country? Got it. Not my college, they only required a blood pulse.

Soooooo exactly the same as every other school in the country? Got it. Exactly Well, not really accurate -- too limiting. They all like you, without regard to wealth or class, if you're Big and Fast. Or Big and Dextrous. Or Dextrous and Fast. Or the Holy Trinity: Big and Dextrous and Fast.

Soooooo exactly the same as every other school in the country? Got it. Not really, no. Schools definitely have an interest in having wealthy alumni. That's not the same thing as having wealthy students, although given the way that wealth accumulates in generations, being wealthy as a student is a good predictor of being wealthy as an alumni. But non-wealthy students who become wealthy alumni are as good or better for the school, because not only are they wealthy alumni but they may also be more inclined to credit the school for their wealth.
