On his twitter: Travis Mewhirter travis_Mew 19h19 hours ago More Awesome stuff from the @avpbeach all pre season. First adding prize money, expanding draws, making Hawaii an open stop. Now announcing they’re providing flight stipends for main draw athletes. Love everything happening in this sport. _______________________________ 1. Hadn't Heard increased Prize $$ 2. I'll count this as officially bigger draws 3. The flight thing is a very nice goodwill touch.

i guess he is counting huntington as being 24 teams as expanding draw?
athletes get $300 added to their check for every non-california event. no questions asked
huntington: -24 teams -$100k
austin: -16 teams -$75k
nyc: -16 teams -$150k
seattle: -16 teams -$75k
hermosa: -24 teams -$100k
manhattan: -32 teams -$150k
chicago: -24 teams -$150k
hawaii: -16 teams -$100k

Of course it's great to see growth (both with events and prize money offered), but has there been anything coming out about the upcoming season suggesting new means for revenue generation? I know this topic keeps coming up but is anything really changing on this front or is the reliance still almost all on sponsors and those with big pockets just "throwing money" at things hoping for a different outcome than what's happened in the past? For those closer to what's going on, if you have any new insight, please share.

Athletes are competing for a slice of the $200,000 in prize money. Read more at avp.com/event/huntington-beach-open/#MDjD9UXYXq3HjEch.99With these smaller ones, the WCs could be interesting on the women's side. Players like Wopat or Plummer might get them along with the International teams?
