Thought of this thread idea which I don’t THINK has been done yet...
Just give your thoughts on which team you think will win each conference, which team will the national championship and why!! Let’s have a CIVIL debate
My predications :
B1G
for the toughest conference in the country, it’s always a good up between 4 ish teams for this conference title. I think Minnesota and Wisconsin should be comfortable in their lineup early on as each team inky lost one starter. PSU and Illinois and even the huskers are the wild cards next year I think. Will PSUs new freshman be able to step up?? How does Illinois cope with the loss of poulter and bastenelli? Quade is outstanding but I think at least 2 more offensive options will need to step up, at least more than last year especially without poulter setting. Nebraska is always good, I wouldn’t choose them for conference however because I think it may take them time to get their groove without Maloney and Foecke. If wisco wants to win it all, the left sides need to step up. My pick for the conference championship is MN. Miller is a good transfer setter and is the only new starter to the lineup.
PAC 12
The pac seems to have almost an obvious answer in Stanford. Only losing one starter and bring in a stud clas with 4 top 10 recruits. But I think there are some very talented teams along with them. Oregon is bringing in a very good class, but will have to replace starters in vanderweide and raskie. UCLA has a lot of work to do after an upsetting last season and a transfer in Miller. USC was up and down but of Lanier can get back to her ability, they could return to a top 7 team I think. My pick for the pac is Stanford, with Oregon having the best ability to challenge.
SEC
the sec is an improving conference, but in recent years, Florida and Kentucky have been the front runners. Assuming Thayer hall can return to form, Florida will be more balanced than we’ve seen them in 2 years I think, we’ve seen them rely on 1 or 2 players recently, but I think with hall hopefully healthy and a good transfer from Georgia, they could have 4 or 5 extremely good hitters. Marlie will take over with a 5-1 which maybe will bring more consistency to their lineup. Kentucky’s lineup will look similar to last year, only graduating 1 middle from the starting lineup I believe. Edmond didn’t do quite as well, but can be very deadly when in her game. Leah Meyer transferred from duke and is very good, I think it will be an absolute battle between Florida and Kentucky for this title. I pick a tie between these two teams, splitting 1 to 1 like 2017.
ACC
the acc has been slowly but surely becoming a tougher conference. Pitt is a strong team who is probably the favorite, but Louisville is certainly capable of challenging. Notre dame has also had their shining moments. I put it down to these 3 teams to win. Pitt lost some seniors but has proven that they can play at a high level, Louisville lost 4 starters, but brought a great transfer setter, Tori Dilfer from Tucker, and a very good middle recruit in Amaya Tillman. For the ACC I’m gonna go with Louisville.... I know I might be biased because I like them, but I truly do think they can. The biggest question will be the other OH with mchenry.
WCC
i legit know next to nothing about this conference and I’m gonna save myself any Ema bars smelt by trying to comment, but I know the have some talented teams. I’m just gonna say BYU cause why not but any WCC fans should make their own post in the thread because I cannot make a fair assement.
