Please don’t use the words “simply” or “you just”. They don’t apply to me. I don’t see any height code when I click the quote thing. Okay, so here's an image of John Cook: (the URL is https://f5s002media.blob.core.windows.net/photos/0036747-rbye-1280x720.jpg) It's super big. Its widthxheight = 1280x720 1. Click on the INSERT IMAGE button 2. Paste the above URL into the box. Then, insert image. 3. Then, go into the code and delete at the end: alt="" 4. In place of what you just deleted, enter your desired height, say "height=300") So, now the code looks like this: "[img src="https://f5s002media.blob.core.windows.net/photos/0036747-rbye-1280x720.jpg" height=300]" (emphasis added) The image should now be automatically resized:

I just noticed how much John Cook has aged over the years.

I’m gonna need a Pepsi before I attempt this. LOL! It's simple. You just simply add a "height=____" code at the end of your existing code. As I said, there are many ways to do this, but this way is super easy.

Resizing an image:
1. Pick an image like you normally do. Do a Google search or something. The image should have Width x Height (WxH) info, e.g., 1200x800. Let's say your image is 1200x800. Way too big.
2. Right-click on the image to get the URL. Copy that URL.
3. Go to VT.
4. Follow the steps you normally do to insert an image. But BEFORE you actually press the "Create post" button to post it on VT, look at the code.
5. The code should look something like this:
[ img src=" https: // blah blah blah.jpeg" alt=" "]
6. Note the code at the end. It should say alt=" ". If not, don't worry.
7. Where it says alt=" ", insert a code:
height=300
so that the code now reads:
[ img src=" https: // blah blah blah.jpeg" height=300]
You can put any number for height = ____. I usually pick a number between 200-500, but it all depends on the original size of the image.
8. Now, press "Create Post" to see that resized image on VT.

These instructions pertain to photos taken from the Internet. Is there another procedure that will allow me to post a photo that's saved on my PC?

But you CAN upload that photo to a free image hosting site (like imgbb.com/ ) and that will create a link to the image that you can then use to post.

Use something free like imgur.com/upload to upload the image and grab the link to post. I've used imgur for a long time and it still works. There may be other/better options now. Edit: Looks like noob chimed in just ahead of me with another option.
