Freshman OH Zakutney goes down with a rough looking leg injury on the first point. Walker is checking her out.
I hate to see that in a spring game (or at all).

Badgers going a lot to Loberg out of the backrow. She's scored twice.

Loberg seems to be playing on the right, Duello left.
UW wins set one 25-14.

Teams are staying put. Might be so they don't have to move the injured player.

That was a pretty clean set for spring ball. I'm thinking this could be the lineup Sheff starts with next August - but it depends on how Loberg does as a blocker, and how effective Duello can be from the left. But I guess Sheff has the freedom to change it up if something goes wacky.

Badger block is looking pretty strong.

Duello playing back row this set in place of Loberg. Having a bit of trouble.

25-11 second set. Lots of errors from the Phoenix in that set.
Pretty even attack for the badgers. All the pin hitters with 4-6 kills.

Uggh. 9-1 run by GB made this one close. Lots of hitting errors, and the backrow saved 2-3 balls from GB that were going out, and then turned into GB points.

Deullo on the right in this last set.
EDIT: Correction. She attacked from the right in the ro, but Lobergs on the right now.
EDIT EDIT. No Duello's on the right.

25-17. In set 4. That set was a bit sloppy. Shanahan played a lot of it, as did Bell.
Sheff ends thanking the crowd of 2000 for showing up. Mentions to the crowd that they were really trying to ramp up the setting tempo. It was noticeable. I felt a fair number of the sets were leading the lefts inside a bit, and causing them to adjust at others. That speed slowed down/got a bit discobulated in the last two sets partly because the passing wasn't as good. A couple times the lefts just could not get there or were out of position.
