As long as they don’t have to play Legacy 😉 We’ll see. FYI we have already seen: Legacy over SPVB 25-20, 28-30, 15-10 on March 9 and 26-24, 25-14 on March 10 at Bluegrass in Louisville. No shame in those two losses as Legacy is the best 18’s team in the nation and the favorite to win at 18’s GJNC’s in Dallas.

I guess, for some, SPVB winning totally justifies parents of SPVB kids putting more and more $$ in Rick Butler's pocket, and the pocket of his spouse and aggressive apologist, Cheryl. Can't get my head around forgetting his transgressions/crimes if I had a volleyball-playing daughter in the Chicago area. Can't get my head around parents forgiving and or ignoring either. If JVA really wanted to make a statement, it would ban all clubs owned by Butler. But, we are then back to the $$, aren't we?

World Challenge is huge and it's fun and I don't care if this current gen of hard working SPRI players does well (or not). The fact is that as an organization SPRI runs a tight ship, is a great place to learn volleyball and the girls who train there help to elevate the sport. You want to argue about that, let's do that although I am not too current on who's who in the younger age groups to argue about it too deep. The history with the Butlers is there and will always be there. No one forgets and no one (on this board anyway) can forget for more than a day without someone reminding us once again, the boogeyman lurks in Aurora. Nevermind that the whole of sports is filled with active abuse and there are far more current situations that need immediate attention, nope, let's get drawn back in the Butler drama which is rife with misinformation, misquoted "facts" and cognitive biases on both sides. Sure let's get back into this cycle and invite all the trolls to participate. I see my favorite has already liked your post. LOL Please let it go and let the random visitor to this site who lives in a cave and is unaware of all the Butler nonsense search the term RICK BUTLER and wade through the LITERALLY hundreds of pages on this very site on this very topic.
Incidentally on the Sports Performance page they (whoever runs the account these days) posted a video of Landfair hitting at JVAs. Man oh man. It's like she literally handles the ball like a baseball and just BOOM! shuts it down. A force to be contended with. Cannot wait to see her develop in the NCAA.

And there it is....took less than a page before topic digressed into an area that has nothing to do with the thread topic. There is a whole thread dedicated to this...take it over there. This thread is about the event. Why, why , why should all teams be banned? Why punish the kids who have nothing to do with past events?? You are not the first to say it, but it remains the dumbest idea ever. I am not excusing or denying or ignoring whatever Rick's crimes may or may not be. But why does every topic even remotely associated with anything SPVB may or may not do devolve into this rehashing with threats against players who have done nothing wrong? Mag'nolea was more eloquent than me, but I think we are on the same page.

However, your directive to hop over to the thread of that topic will be futile, as too much "reporting" got that thread shut down so now folk are looking for places to interject those references. (Does someone dare start a new one?) Back to JVA WC

Current situations need immediate attention? Well by all means GO FOR IT and don't be quiet about it. It's on everyone to speak up. Sorry your wish for me to 'let it go' just won't be happening. As far as what I said: The money parents spend at SPVB and the satellite clubs around the country went into his pockets then and the money goes into his pockets now. And that fact is as atrocious as you saying there is misinformation and misquoted "facts." By the way, he isn't a boogeyman. A bogeyman is a mythical creature; he is real grown up man who had sex with his players when they were teenagers and admitted to it in deposition.

I've tried talking about it and my threads were all shut down. I was accused of trying to shunt attention away from the boogeyman.
Whatever I am not engaging with you on the topic any more because it is obvious that this is another needy attention seeking poster wanting to resurrect things that I have no energy to discuss.
I came to this thread to discuss volleyball.
JVA WC was always a fun time. I don't know if it's the Louisville atmosphere, God knows it's not their horrific parking situation at the Exposition Center. I swear I put in 10,000 steps from parking lot to the court my kid was playing on. Ha!
One of my daughter's friends posted a video of a men's game going on during JVA WC. Does anyone know what that was about?
