The men's matches were part of the NVA, a professional league.

Landfair is lethal..... ..her passing needs to be fine tuned though. She's still young. She will only get stronger in all aspects of the sport.

I am apparently the only one that is not impressed with her right now. Her hitting mechanics, lack of range or shots, and ball control are all not great. She is obviously very tall, jumps well, and is physical (although there are plenty out there that are more physical) which you cannot teach. There is no question she will be very good though.

I agree about her swing. I worry about her long term sustainability with the lack of follow through on that swing and am curious why that hasn't been corrected because technical execution is so part of the usual training in Aurora. I do wonder if she has to swing that way due to her height and strength?! Sort of her way of accommodating the other factors. I respectfully disagree on everything else. I don't think she's a terrible passer and Her range of hitting was impressive the last time I saw her in person (school season this '18 season/this past fall).

Size and strength should not be an issue, I’ve seen plenty of bigger stronger men’s players with great mechanics. And by range of hitting I do not see a consistent line, deep cross, high seem, etc swing from her. Generally it’s low seem and low cross and that’s about it. Judging her passing is also tough to do during high school season where she is not challenged much so there is a lack of pressure.

I was speaking to her range of hitting and not passing.
I understand that high school is often volleyball lite vs club ball. My understanding is that even recruiters don’t take high school season too too serious vs club, which at first surprised me. Having lived through four years of hs ball I totally understand it (& agree with you on that). Although her hitting in hs shouldn’t have been affected by that dynamic as she was being set by a capable setter and on a team with a decent passer.

The Men's game was a HUGE hit! The court was so packed that anybody libero sized was out of luck unless you somehow wiggled your way to the front. lol I know nothing about the league but it was the NVA, and they were professional men's teams.
As far as the tournament, it was my daughters last, so I may be a bit biased, but I thought it was every bit as competitive as any major tournament in the US could be. And love them or hate them, the JVA is putting up a very competitive model versus USAV that will only grow in the coming years. Our team made it to gold before bowing out. It was a great season, but my DD is ready for the next step on her journey.

She clearly will be the #1 recruit in her class. She is a phenom. She will likely get the #1 senior aces ranking, but Madi Skinner is more of a sure thing. She's so good and seemingly gets better each time out. Craig is getting a great player. I'm also a big fan of Jacobs and DeBeer, probably the two best 6-rotation pins in their class, but they will get knocked for being 5'11".

Is Skinner playing up or is she just playing her age on her club team? Trying to compare if she has a one year headstart in developing over the other 2020’s.

You are not the only one. Her passing is off this year and she has a hitch in her hitting motion. I don't remember seeing it in the past, so I don't know if its due to an injury or something else. As for her being very good, I agree.

She'd be my pick for the #1 overall senior ace. Mruzik is also pretty darn good as is Tommi Stockham in Vegas. Apparently *some* think this isn't an elite OH class, but I could easily see 6 of the top 10 senior aces being OH's this year.

Lots of 2020's are playing up right now, though the 18's overall isn't all that strong. A number of the better 2019 players aren't playing club this year.
