Nice win for the boys. Controlled the match, never really in trouble. Played consistent and made Brazil beat themselves. Really excellent serving game too Teams going after Trevor?

Started on Tri, had a little luck blocking him, and later Trevor, but they covered well and Brazil didnt get many digs.

Chase and Casey get about as easy a match as you could reasonably hope for. Looks like at least a 5th for them if they play well
Reid/Theo too. Great chance for US to put three in the quarters

2T going to a third against the Dutch. Both other American teams already advanced to the quarters.

Wow. When was the last time we had 3 men’s teams in the quarterfinals??
Nice win for 2T.
And Brazil is done. The highest finish for them is a 9th in the team of Evandro/Pedro.

Wow we have 5 maybe 6 solid USA teams Right now. I like it and it’s going to be a fun 2 years leading up to the Olympics
Great win by crabb and Tri. That’s one of the top 3-4 teams in the world I think.
Also great to see Casey and chase win a tight match and not blow it. That will boost there confidence

T2 (not 2T) are the tough guy split blocking duo to round things out. Several of these teams are going to be outside looking in, I'd say Gibb and Taylor aren't too happy where they are right now.

I agree to some extent, although having been very skeptical of T2 - definitely better that 2T - I am eyeing the Kool Aid thirstily. However, Jake/Taylor have been in trouble early in every event this year. In Sydney they went 17-15 in 3 against a very weak Spanish team. In Xiamen they lost their first match to Alison/Alvaro - a 50/50 team for them, but still In Huntington they got blown off the court by T2 in the 2nd round In Austin Lotman/Ospina Thats two awful performances and two understandable losses, but ones you'd like to see them at least force a 3rd game. Not quite a trend yet, but pretty close to one. For a lot of aging players, they can still get up for semis, finals etc. (as Jake did when he reminded T2 that they still havent won anything in the Huntington semi) but early round matches become harder and they start losing matches they shouldnt or coin flip matches. On the AVP, fine, an early round loss for a top team is very overcomeable, but Jake has built his international career in part on winning his pool and avoiding 17th place matches and he and Taylor are not nearly good enough to do well if they dont win their pools consistently

I'll be curious to see how all of the points for the USA teams shake out after this tournament. Who's going to be where in the FIVB points and who's auto entry into MD vs. who's auto into the Q and who's still stuck in CQ.

Tri continues to improve, and will become a problem for them. I don't really see any other US teams being able to qualify outside our top 3. Losing early definitely needs to be fixed, especially in International play. I'm not sure how they lose to teams they should beat handily. Is it a coaching issue, not playing up because they're too confident, something else?

Hyden/Doherty and Allen/Slick — 25th 2C, T2, Priddy/Brunner — 5th
Mol/Sorum potentially could win this one.

Kantor/Losiak has forfeited due to injury. Varenhorst/van de Velde will take the bronze.
