I know im not supposed to do this but... TEXAS OH:Micaya White OH:Logan Eggelston MB:Brionne Butler MB:Oneal OP:Skylar Fields S: Ashley Shook L:Sydney Peterson DS:Autumm Rounsaville There are still some questions at the setting and middle positions but this should be the lineup Texas doesn’t really have the luxury of ‘testing’ line ups this season, with the OOC schedule we have. I think you’re spot on with everything, but my gut tells me Jhenna gets the start at setter and will be subbed out situationally. I agree with everything else, with Phillips first off the bench. I hope that Coach Elliott uses Big 12 play to test different pin/middle combos that may be needed in post-season.

Also I think that Phillips could push for a starting role over O’Neal depending on if Elliott would rather have offense or defense.

Couple of newbies could slip in, like Hatch. Not sure how Rhodes is doing with recovery.

Not my team, but the most underrated team in the B12 last year and what looks like a fairly predictable lineup. Oklahoma:
S: McLaughlin, Kylee RS: Sanders, Sarah OH: Dotson, Sanaa' OH: Dunbar, Ashlynn MB: Anderson, Paige MB: Kadiku, Brianna L: Kinley, Keyton DS: Harty, Aysia/Johnson, Paige

I wouldn’t sleep on Phillips for a pin hitter position (likely Opp) either

Elle Sandbothe is no longer on the K-State roster. That is correct. Has one year of eligibility.

With Muturi not moving from RS for the next three years - Zumach wouldn't seem like a match as a RS. Seems like K-State may have the biggest need at MB. Especially if Dixon can fit in with Heyne on the Outside.

Nicole Skoch (formally Nicole Dalton who played for the Longhorns) is the new Volunteer Coach for Kansas. She had coached HS and club (KC Power) this past season.
Here is my guess at the moment for the lineup to start the season:
S: Ennis OH: Smith/Angello OH: Christon/Mostrom MB: Hill MB: Langs RS: HIckman L: Nelson
Smith, Angello, Hill, Langs, and Nelson would seem to be locks. The rest is up in the air. Ennis and Nielsen may be 50/50 on who starts at setter. Nielsen being with the team in Europe this week helps regardless. Hickman and Carrier are probably battling for the RS position with Hickman being able to play 6 positions probably puts her as the favorite. Mostrom and Suter will be the other DS in the rotation - and probably switch during the year. That leaves the biggest open spot being the OH. Freshman and #14 Senior Ace Christon may be the favorite, but she got injured at Nationals last month and will be behind in terms of practice with the team. Freshman Riley Foltz is the only other OH on the roster and would seem to need some seasoning? Freshman Gracie Van Driel (Senior Ace #48) appears to be playing OH this spring when looking at their videos (someone had to play out of position). She could be in the mix, but seems like a stretch to move her from MB to OH? And they potentially could bring in a transfer.

From the very limited playing videos I’ve noticed that’s Ennis is hurt and Nielsen has been doing all of the setting. Looks like they’ve settled on a lineup of
OH Smith (Angello) OH Van Driel (Monstrom/ Suter) MB Langs MB Hill RS Hickman (6 rotation) S Nielsen L Nelson
Interesting to see how they will mix in Ennis and Carrier. These past couple of years Hill has been somewhat inconsistent so maybe she’ll work there.
Interesting note: At the beginning of the spring Hickman was listed only as a RS hitter this has now been changed to only a OH hitter. I think Kansas is very high on Hickman. They tried to put Payne when she was here as a 6 rotation RS, but her passing and lateral movement was just too slow.
I’m surprised that they didn’t just move Hickman to OH (she is the one playing 6 rotations) and start Carrier on the right side. Which would allow Van Driel to be the backup MB/RS and Christon be the back up OH. Kansas has always been a good blocking team but that would potentially give you a front line of Hickman (6’3), Langs (6’3), Carrier (6’5).

I suspect that Payne being recruited as a MB played very little back row. Hickman being LH probably limits her being a OH. The question would be is she able to return serve on occasions - like Albers was able to do a while back. Glad to see Morgan Christon with the team now. Hopefully a full and quick recovery from her injury at Nationals.

Lol I knew there was some reason Hickman wasn’t play OH lol. I really want to see Carrier play. Just from her size she has so much raw potential. Excited to see how this team comes together.
I really liked how Ennis was able to really jell the team when she became the primary setter in the 6-2 last year. I really wish she wasn’t as injury prone. She has decent size at 6 foot and I enjoyed the way she set.
I was watching some videos of Kansas last year and one of their biggest problems was how slow they were defensively. Serve receive was absolutely terrible, but it just seemed like Kansas was moving in slow motion. The block will be great just like most years, but it comes down to the “littles”. Angello and Nelson have great skill set, and if they have improved Kansas can probably become a top 25ish team.
Everyone in the Big12 knows they have to recruit size to combat the big arms of Texas. Kansas is starting to get bigger which will lower the gap between Kansas and Texas in the Big12. Kansas isn’t quite on the national level Texas is, but in the Big12, if they can start beating Texas more (which they have started to do these past few years), they will become a very very good program.
Question: When does the Big12 schedules come out? I haven’t really heard of any Big12 school release their schedule for the fall
