Not sure how true this is, but I read a rumor that 6 out of the 14 players for each weekly roster needs to be from WCH 2018. Can anybody clarify? There is no WAY that is mandatory.

I thought the Grand Champions' Cup also had a similar requirement. Roster must include a specified number of Olympians from the previous year, or something. FIVB's attempt at keeping the level of play high so that teams aren't just sending rookies for development. Montreux stopped inviting the USA because we weren't ever sending our best athletes.

I always thought USA turned down the offer of playing at Montreux and not the other way around. It's funny, because they still invite China who sends a weaker roster. This year China gave a heads up to Montreux that they were sending a U23 team and in articles regarding the teams playing there is "U23" in parentheses next to China. If this rule is true about having 6 players from WCH then it changes the idea of sending all rookies for the first week, but it shouldn't be that hard to manage.

That really disappoints me and little downright infuriates me... Hooker is what USA needs! I am glad to see Cuttino be getting looks as she is very reminiscent of Hooker. But 2012 wouldn't have been as successful if it wasn't for Hooker, bring her back and let's win gold!!!

Google translate got me this: My main concern is whether Fawcett announced leaving the NT on her own terms, or if she "no longer needed". Very interesting rhetoric from Coach Kiraly. Clearly Coach doesn't want to talk about Hooker. That's a non-starter at this point. I still credit this journalist for pushing him on this topic. The lack of transparency is really frustrating for the fans who would like to know.

Literally Egonu isn’t any more kumbaya than Hooker was and look she and her team are doing ...

Literally Egonu isn’t any more kumbaya than Hooker was and look she and her team are doing ... What gets me is just the chemistry that could have been. Just imagine if there was a reconciliation with Hooker, and Hooker, Larson, and Foluke could have nurtured and grown a chemistry for 6+ years after 2012, building off of McCutcheon's legacy.

Karch's legacy will be of his own making. Don't blame Hooker for whatever the source is of the visceral dislike (hate?) he has for her.
