I'm pretty excited to see who they chose.
Long Beach and UC Irvine seem most probable, but my gut says it's going to be Long Beach and UCLA.

I think because no schools east of the rockies were within 400 miles, they could make this a truly seeded event
there was no really 'clear' choice for the last at-large
USC makes the most sense
Hawaii with the #1 seed - not a total surprise - the loss to SC is what tipped the scales, gave Hawaii the advantage in record vs. common opponents, and Hawaii's 2-0 record vs. Pepp/USC vs. LB record of 1-1 probably negated LB's head to head over Hawaii, since both teams held serve at home.
Pepperdine is gonna be a really tough opponent for LB - they haven't played the last two years
Lewis-USC will be a battle, and it'll be interesting to see how far Lewis has progressed - but Lewis hasn't thing anything like Hawaii yet
gonna have a packed house on both nights

Hawaii the #1 seed. I do like Hawaii's semi-final opponent, either USC, or Lewis. LBSU has the more difficult semi-final match, most likely it being Pepperdine.

You have to feel for Pepperdine being the third seed but drawing the best team in the country for the semis. Hawaii may end up having their hands full against Lewis in the other semifinal match up, now that Lewis is back at full strength.

Neither is clear #1.

Neither is clear #1. They are close, but last time I looked around what others sports do, most seem to feel that 2 wins and 1 loss in head-to-head makes you the better team. Being defending national champs playing at home just adds to the tough draw for Pepperdine. Either way, a championship means having to beat both Hawaii and Long Beach.

Lewis is looking great! That serving pressure is on another level! Some nasty float serves and unbelievable defense, especially from their big fellas. Can’t wait to see what clip Mitchem is gonna roll into the pyramid with.

Hawaii may end up having their hands full against Lewis in the other semifinal match up, now that Lewis is back at full strength. Hawaii already swept Pepperdine this season. The Waves haven’t played Long Beach in awhile so that might be the better matchup for them. Hawaii and Long Beach are 1a and 1b. There are no good draws for anyone having to face either of them in the semis. And Lewis hasn’t played a West Coast team in nearly 3 months. Hawaii and Long Beach have the experience of playing elite level competition for 3 matches in a row now. The Big West is the best Conference in the country this year, it’ll be a huge task for anyone else to knock Hawaii or the Beach out of the tourney.

Total surprise to me Hawaii is #1. Thought they would easily be #2.

Total surprise to me Hawaii is #1. Thought they would easily be #2. Thinking the only reason why Hawaii got the #1 seed is because they got the automatic, whereas LBSU was the at-large entry.
