Long Beach, Calif. (May 1, 2019) - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) is pleased to announce that Long Beach State University Outside Hitter Josh TJ DeFalco has been named the 2019 TeamSnap/AVCA Division I-II Men’s Player of the Year.
The presentation was made at the NCAA Men's Volleyball Championship Banquet at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, CA. The banquet was held in conjunction with the NCAA Men's Volleyball Tournament in Long Beach, Calif.

TJ DEFALCO FAST FACTS
• Second TeamSnap/AVCA Player of the Year (2017)
• Fourth player in Division I-II Men’s history to win the honor twice (Jeff Nygaard: UCLA, George Roumain: Pepperdine, Costas Theocharidis: Hawai’i)
• Third consecutive season the award has gone to Long Beach State (first time in history)
• One of three players to be a four-time AVCA First-Team All-American (Costas Theocharidis: Hawai’i (2000-2003); Erik Shoji: Stanford (2009-2012))
• First in the Big West Conference in aces per set (0.54) and fourth in hitting percentage (.386)
• Secured hitting percentages of at least .300 in 18 matches (11 of at least .500)
• Had a four-match stretch at the end of the regular season where he tallied 65 kills (.432 hitting percentage), 32 digs, and 10 blocks.
• Picked up his fourth career Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week on April 16
