Tickets were on sale for over a month before they sold out. Plenty of opportunity for Hawaii fans to buy them. It was a hot commodity item when they opened it up for sell. With only about 5k tix available, I assure you 1k Hawaii fans were not able to secure tix. I'm pretty confident in that. If it was such a "hot commodity", why did it take a month to sell out? Every single Hawaii fan (all 1000 of them?) had the same opportunity to buy tickets as the fans of every other team. And, they had a month's time frame to do it (I assure you?).

first of all,
there may be 1000 Hawaii fans there
to say there's 'no way' they bought a lot of tix is silly, there's probably more Hawaii alums in SoCal than there are in Hawaii
the other thing is, the reason the AD screwed up so much is because of the selling of packages
especially in SoCal, you'll get a TON of walk-up sales between the semis and finals (unless it's Princeton vs. Lewis), cause whoever from SoCal/Hawaii wins in the semis would want to come to the Natty game. I bet there were 2000-3000 tix alone last year sold (because UCLA could handle it) last year in walk-up sales after the semis. If BYU had won their semi last year, they would have come out in force
that's one of the problems with how this was handled by the LB AD. even if they only sold 3000 or so packages, they would have sold a ton of walk up tix - as it is USC, Pepp, Hawaii, & even LB casual fans - who would come for a Natty game. it's the die-hards that track the sport scoop up the early ones
unfortunately, by having it 'sold out' 4 weeks before the event, the LB AD has managed to basically discourage and kill interest in the event as a live event by the idiot lack of vision - total flub by the LB AD. just amazing the lack of vision on this one

As a Hawaii fan I would love to see 1k hell 2k in that small venue. but it's not happening. I predict maybe 300-400. But even that is a great turnout.

I have a feeling there will be a lot of empty seats Thursday since some who bought early tickets may not come at all and for sure many others are going to come for only one game. since it is assigned seating it will be difficult to over sell or fill empty seats. They should have left some sections GA to use as a buffer.
Saturday I think it will be mostly a full house but there will definitely be some empty seats due to assigned seating.

The fact tix are selling for $200 and up means they will be filled.

I expect 1000 UH fans there, just may not be able to recognize them.

I think you are really underestimating the demand on the mainland. I've been at the Big West basketball tournament, and Hawaii brings a lot of fans - they plan for this stuff, and this year's team is huge to them. yes it's not like Hawaii needs fans to fly over to make a presence for a match in SoCal there were probably about 600+ at the Pyramid, so there will be at least that many this weekend

The difference is that the Honda center holds 18k. Yes, Hawaii always brings a strong following. In every sport tbh. I just feel that as much as I love the prospect of the Pyramid hosting it, I do think its capacity size did inhibit Hawaii fans from buying. That's my sole opinion.

wow, these jacked up prices for the semis and finals are selling
Finals starting @ $300, going to $600
guessing some Hawaii fans out there really want to see a National Championship
for Long Beach & Hawaii, they don't come around all that often
