Kean now deserves to win an NCAA quarterfinal match. Respect I get it, i guess. But surely there has to be another way to support your teammate without adding an additional 20-40K onto existing Student Loans I would assume they are not taking classes this year and instead are just delaying their graduation by a year. Not taking on any extra costs.

Yeah I was just more so arguing that they are not just costing themselves more student loans to do this they probably figured something else out.

To clarify the situation. The seniors have decided not to play this year in consolidation with classmate Steven "Zig" Zarzycki who medically withdrew this semester as he ABSOLUTELY CRUSHED his battle against cancer. With his need to return for a 5th year of schooling to complete his degree- the seniors have chosen to join him forfeit this year and return and complete their eligibility and compete in a 5th year with Zig spectrumlocalnews.com/nys/rochester/sports/2019/07/23/steven-zarzycki-cane-volleyball-lymphoma#It looks like his original plan was to finish treatments in the fall then play volleyball without missing a season. It's probably a wise decision for him to wait a year and focus on recovering. Best wishes for him and the seniors.

Been over a week, when can we expect this news? Some may already know, for others this will be news. The Kean seniors, including All-American setter Ian Capp will not be playing this year From a volleyball standpoint what does this do for the strength of the CVC moving forward?

From a volleyball standpoint what does this do for the strength of the CVC moving forward? That SVU will run away with it unopposed Basically this with Juniata now having a chance to make the conference final, but Kean will run away with it next year.

Exactly, the Kean clash, which was a great measuring stick for lots of teams, is going to be less exciting this year. But at least team can't dissapoint in the playoffs if they don't make the playoffs.

Speaking of the kean clash. Did some research and this is what I sound. Am I wrong? Missing anything?
Fri Jan 17 Benedictine vs kean Elms vs Stevens IT Stevenson vs psu Altoona
Sat Jan 18 Benedictine vs Arcadia SUNY new Paltz vs Stevenson Kean vs Stevenson Psu Altoona vs elms SUNY new Paltz vs Benedictine Stevens it vs psu Altoona Stevens it vs kean Elms vs Arcadia
Should be a good early test for many teams. Are Benedictine / Stevens it / new Paltz / elms as good as last year or better?
Is Stevenson any good Or was Landon carrying them?
How far does kean fall? Can Arcadia build on their recent success?

The only thing more shocking than seeing the Cougar seniors playing is the performance thus far from the Massapequa native Nick Smith for Old Paltz VC. I suppose Mamba must stand for "My Attacks are Mostly Blocked Anyways". New Paltz defeated Old Paltz today. We don't need to get into too many details, but let's just say the probability of the Kean seniors playing this year is higher than the probability of all Smith's showing up to Thanksgiving dinner.

In attendance as spectators? Or as in playing? Playing Why would you play in a non-traditional scrimmage if you weren’t going to play the season? Either means they are playing this year, or are not playing in the fall next year, ahead of coming back.

Why would you play in a non-traditional scrimmage if you weren’t going to play the season? Either means they are playing this year, or are not playing in the fall next year, ahead of coming back. If the decision that Steven Zarzycki was going to redshirt was not made until after fall semester began, then the seniors were probably enrolled for this semester. If it was too late to drop out, then there's no reason why they shouldn't play today, unless the coach decides that he wants to focus on the players who will be playing in 2020. It is a scrimmage and it will not affect eligibility if they go through with their decision of skipping 2020 season. Whether they enroll or not for fall 2020 will be up to them. I don't know if it's possible to practice with the team if they are not enrolled.
