Did the old coach quit before the season, or did they just decide to wait until 3 weeks before their first match to hire a coach? rosemont-ravens.com/sports/mens-volleyball/archivesLooks like the women's coach was named the coach of both in October of 2018. Taking a look at their women's roster/coaching staff now, it looks like he's gone. Tough spot. Yes - the let go of their coach in the fall

The younger brother Eli Gabriel Irizarry Pares transferred from Springfield and is now playing for Grand View, a top notch NAIA school. He was Springfield's starting setter last year. They will have to rely on Matt Lilley, who was a serving specialist for them last year or Jeremy DeRoche who was the Men's Junior National Team technical coordinator in 2018 and served as the DataVolley coordinator for Springfield's Men's Volleyball team since 2018, but is now listed as a setter on the roster. To inform what I heard- he was cut. And the replacement setter was supposed to be Agim from Greece but is no longer listed on 2020 roster Kid hated everything about America and left after a couple weeks lol

Will someone please remind me how to get to the Excel spreadsheet that shows which coaches voted for which teams? They don't release the ballots for preseason polls. They are usually available via a hyperlink under the poll date selection, via "Poll Voters" here: www.avca.org/polls/diii-men/index.html

Next Poll: January 21 Can't say I disagree all that much with where teams ended up in the pre-season poll, if I could vote in the rankings I would have put this: 1. New Paltz 2. Stevens 3. Springfield 4. Endicott 5. Benedictine (IL) 6. Southern Virginia 7. Arcadia 8. Carthage 9. Rivier 10. UC Santa Cruz 11. NYU 12. Elms 13. Wells 14. Wentworth 15. St. John Fisher I can't really go too in depth in explanations as I haven't seen half of these teams play before. I am very high on the trio of Bittker, Byrne and Lehman over at Stevens, and same thing about the big hitters over at NYU, especially Ferraro. Wentworth is supposed to be having a big time right side in freshmen Hunter Oshman and returning pretty much their entire starting lineup. I love what Fisher has got going on out in western NY. As for Stevenson and Juniata who I did not include compared to the actual poll is simply because I don't know how they will be without Landon Shorts and Quinn Peterson, respectively.

St. John Fisher has some real quality pieces, not sure how they recruited this year but I would expect this team to win a lot of games. I think NYU is on the brink of a major turn-around but they'll really have to prove themselves in order to earn a ranking in my opinion

On the recruiting side, pretty sure but can’t confirm they got at least WNY two guys with New Paltz offers, including one who de-comitted from New Paltz, but certainly not for a lack of ability.
Word going around is that they also locked up Owen Wickens (Cal’s son) who had offers from west coast D1’s and some of the better east coast D1’s. HUGE steal for them. Best part about it is that Fisher is about a 5-10 minute walk from Naz in suburban Rochester, so if Cal sticks around that rivalry would be so much better than it already is.

I heard that he will be going to Naz for a year then transferring to a Division 1 school thereafter. I can confirm that not only will St. John Fisher be good this year, but they will be good for years to come. They are and will be the new powerhouse in Rochester.

That's where I heard he was interested in attending after his freshman year (for financial reasons. even after athletic scholarships PSU is still $$$$$$). I could be wrong, but perhaps this "verbal commitment" means that he told Pav that he will attend there beginning his sophomore year.
