I always thought it would be fun to have an opening tournament that includes all teams from the previous year's final four. With scheduling being done so far in advance these days, it would be hard to do, but it would be great to kick it off the next year that way. It would be fun to watch. If the NCAA picked up travel costs it could work. Most schools have a limited travel budget.

Week 2 Poll
1. New Paltz- Impressive wins and performance on the weekend move them into my top slot; excited to see Spulnick continue to mature 2. Springfield- Solid early start for their kiddos on the West Coast- lots of youth in this group- will get better 3. Stevens- took care of business including 25-5 drubbing of Kean; Both wins over teams affected by unpredictable roster changes 4. Benedictine- Big winner of Clash at Kean; despite dropping to New Paltz showed people that they are the real deal 5. Endicott- Idle weekend and they barely hold onto their grip of this spot 6. Wells- Biggest riser; Incredibly impressed with this group so far; Solid mistake free volleyball; Passing every early season test 7. Carthage- Idle weekend 8. Rivier- Not sure why they opened at John Jay- but took care of business nonetheless 9. NYU- Another big winner; Alex Li is on a revenge tour; Ferraro also making an impact on both sides of the ball 10. Arcadia- Depth of this group is impressive; Coach Porr will need to find his top line-up to get results against programs like Ben U; 11. SVU- injuries aside, still a disappointing weekend; Recabarren will need to play more frequently; excited to see them at JC this weekend 12. Juniata- took care of business; excited about the dept of this group 13. St. John Fisher- I believe the loss to Wells says more about their opponent than them; excited to see them battle for 2nd-4th in UVC 14. Stevenson- lots of size on this group that will bother every opponent; serve receive and ability to terminate from pins against elite opponents will be big 15. Cal Luthern- a few impressive perfomances; Gets the nod based on win over Vassar
Also Considered: Vassar, LBC, St, Joe's (LI), Wentworth

Well this poll is absolute trash. Almost as if the voters don’t pay attention to the games played and merely focus on what’s best for their schedule.

The only issue I have is Stevenson at 14. The team is definitely going to shoot up this season, but I won't fault you for having them there based on their results this weekend. I would probably switch them and Fisher but I'm not a voter lol. UCSC dropping I agree with, pretty rough opening weekend and they don't have many losses to give for the season. I didn't have UCSC in my initial rankings and I am still high on Fisher. Didn't feel fair for me to dramatically drop them for a loss to a Wells team that I find very talented

I’m very confused to how teams that have yet to play are receiving such a benefit of the doubt in these polls. Also, the teams that have played nobody good somehow jump teams with tougher weekends. It’s madness

Rumor has is that Raccabaren is hurt and not fully playing. Does anyone have information in him and why Paul Clark didn’t appear in any games?

Messiah falls to marymount but has an impressive night from some of their players. Could be a threat if teams take them lightly this season.
