Harlee is not from Hawai’i. She’s from California with many Hawai’i ties, including her last name. So, only Carly Kan, further proving my point. LOL! larissa nordyke?

So, only Carly Kan, further proving my point. LOL! larissa nordyke? Yes. Also, Courtney Lelepali -- Punahou grad, went to Southern Utah, transferred back to UH, mainly for indoor, but also for a season on the beach (2012). But that's about it, I think.

Since Hawai'i is playing all matches at Queens Beach this year, would anyone happen to know if any of their games will be shown on tv/stream like they have the past few years? A Shame if they wont be. Apart from the PAC-12 games, I look forward to these ones. Even tho its usually one or 2.

volleyballmag.com/hawaii-beach-021320/No offense to Martin in this article, but Hall sure does like to talk up his current players. "Her focus to be great is better than any athlete ever over the past 20 years", is a pretty big statement. Travis, however, does not neglect to praise the former face of the Bows! Spieler (and Maglio) were pretty committed athletes as well. Spieler being one of the all-time great beach volleyball players and student athletes, and Maglio committed to playing indoor and beach (a very arduous task to do continually every year while being an all-academic every year. Nikki Taylor as well helped build this program). Sorry, I know all the players. Martin and Ozee are the current face for Hall, but I gotta give the others as much or more credit. I am guessing Hall's high praise of Martin, Scoles and Ozee puts them in at the number one position, depending on the competition (and likely pairings). No surprise there, those are the three (maybe four players I think will be there as well). Is his praise for Van Sickle another indication that she will be playing in the top flights? Surprised that Hellvig was not mentioned in the article along with the other freshman (or indoor crossovers). I personally would be really surprised if we didn't see Hellvig in the top 5 pairs. She has the beach IQ, and obviously some skill. Let's hope it is an oversight. No mention of Iosia either. I think Hall saying "I've never started and finished a season the same way and I don't expect that to happen this year either", may mean he will go with the expected route, Martin at number one, and Scoles, Ozee (depending on the partnerships) will compete to upend Martin. I just hope they get the partnerships right from the beginning. As much as I thought the pairs needed to be switched up last year, I would have preferred that they got the pairs right from the start! I think it was at Hawaii's detriment last year. I think they would have won more convincingly (e.g. over Cal who they played twice after a day and a half of practice). Had they had lost to Cal, that could have cost them the season. With the competition so tight this year across the board, I don't think UH has the luxury of such a misstep.

Hellvig was injured for awhile as the rest of the indoor players began to practice with the beach team, and I believe that she is now fully participating in practices, but perhaps, the injury could have set her a bit back? Regardless, Hellvig will most likely be in at least the top 5 pairs.

I agree. She should work her way into the lineup. I can't imagine leaving her talent off the roster.

The season begins this Saturday and Sunday in the Outrigger tournament. Why haven't there been any leaks yet on the flight pairings?

Hellvig just came off of injury, so maybe she will come into one of the flights as the season progresses. I feel like Maidment could maybe find herself within these top 5 flights as well. I wonder what possible combinations there would be with the players listed above though.

It will be difficult to crack that lineup. Maidment, Kekauoha, and Hellvig could be three that could but who would they replace?
