Tough Final match, now that the 2019 season is behind us and there is heavy talk about next year. Though I’d start up this new thread because its easier to be optimistic about 2020. We can continue to vent and commiserate on Hawaii 2019. Joe, Stijn, Dalton and Rosey are gone next season. Any guesses as to who steps up next season?

Strange stuff mentioned by game announcer prior to start of yesterday’s NC match, did anyone catch it? He made a statement that Gage would be looked at as possible replacement for Joe, I damn near fell outta my chair. We gotta keep him at L right?

Lol good try, you’re thinking about the high school final match Punahou vs Moanalua. One of the announcers mentioned it. Wouldn’t put much stock in that. Yes Gage is definitely our Libero.

Confirmations please: 1) is Humler really going to have surgery on his hand?
2) what positions is Wade really looking to put Dimi and Humler?
3) does anyone see any current member transferring out?

Hawai`i will once again have some good players sitting on the bench. After the season Colton had, I really don't see him losing his starting spot next season. With the improvement he made from last season to this season, I only see him getting better. Especially the way this season ended, I see him being motivated to train even harder during the off-season. Same with Rado he had a breakout season and I only see him training harder and getting even better. Therefore either Dimi or Humler will not be in the starting line-up to start the season. It's the men's game and there has been guys leaving the program every year, so it will honestly surprise me if no one transfers out. I believe there will be at least one.

Humler is having surgery and I believe he qualifies for a medical hardship waiver because he played in less than 30 percent of the matches for this past season so he may still be a freshmen next season.

IIRC it was Thelle who was said to replace Joe as I’ve heard from the commentators.

I know we have Dimi next year coming in with the MB from Brazil. However, any top recruits from the US looking to play for Hawaii in the next couple years?

It might just be me but every time I look at Humler, he doesn't look as happy as the other guys on the team. I hope he doesn't transfer out or go back home for some reason.

I know we have Dimi next year coming in with the MB from Brazil. However, any top recruits from the US looking to play for Hawaii in the next couple years? We got Dimi and Galloway in next year plus the JC transfer Geiger. In 2020, we've got setters Walmer and Buchanan arriving. Haven't heard anything official about the Brazilian yet. Humler was recruited as both an OH and OPP, so I'm thinking he has the inside track of being our starting OH next year, even if his minutes were limited, he was
productive during those matches. His serve is lethal when its in play. Will need to work on his passing and digging.
Was watching the State Championship game between Punahou and Moanalua, great match pitting Punahou's OH Jack Duchar against Moanalua's OH Max Slaughter, combined the two had over 50 kills, Max with 30. Duchar is headed to USC in the fall, Max is a junior. Any thoughts on Max as a possible Hawaii recruit?

Gage mentioned in one of the IG stories that some of the guys will be flying up during the summer and training with the Worsleys. That is probably the bestest news I've heard thus far. He didnt specify who exactly but that's amazing g news. Rado transformed by training with the Worsleys last summer and I am excited to see more go and grow.
