Just 15 of the 42 All-Americans from 2018 were seniors -- the lowest number ever. Only 29 of the HM selections were seniors, too. That means there's a ton of returning talent.
So... who is making the move up this season? Who falls out of the ranks? Lanier, Gates, Kramer, Haggerty, Miller, Hart make it back in? Who do you think will put together an All-American season in 2019? Who is primed for a breakout year? Who was snubbed last year and will be even better this fall?
Returning All-Americans: Jenna Gray, Morgan Hentz, Kathryn Plummer, Jacqueline Quade, Dana Rettke, Stephanie Samedy, Lauren Stivrins, Kendall White, Allie Barber, Brooke Botkin, Dani Drews, Leah Edmond, Shelly Fanning, Audriana Fitzmorris, Sydney Hilley, Mary Lake, Madison Lilley, Regan Pittman, Ronika Stone, Micaya White, Kara Bajema, Madison Duello, Heather Gneiting, Nika Markovic, Blake Mohler, Jonni Parker, Jordan Thompson
Returning HM All-Americans: Efrosini Alexakou, Lee Ann Cunningham, Brionne Butler, Payton Caffrey, Holly Carlton, Tiffany Clark, Madelyn Cole, Devyn Cross, Gabby Curry, Kylie DeBerg, Sarah Dixon, Logan Eggleston, Kennedy Eschenberg, Serena Gray, Tessa Grubbs, Thayer Hall, Nicklin Hames, Hollann Hans, Alexis Hart, Kirstie Hillyer, Kaitlyn Hord, Willow Johnson, Keyton Kinley, Taryn Knuth, Kenzie Koerber, Martha Konovodoff, Rachael Kramer, Khalia Lanier, Raquel Lazaro, Nicole Lennon, Kayla Lund, e'lan McCall, Meghan McClure, Melanie McHenry, McKenna Melville, Leah Meyer, McKenna Miller, Taylor Morgan, Gloria Mutiri, Charley Niego, Brooke Nuneviller, Katie Oleksak, Courtney Pence, Yossiana Pressley, Tess Reid, Adanna Rollins, Lindsey Ruddins, Polina Shemanova, Mikayla Shields, Jasmin Sneed, Jocelyn Urias, Layne Van Buskirk, Torrey Van Winden, Cortney VanLiew, Brooke Westbeld, M'Kaela White, Stephanie Williams

I think Jolie Rasmussen at Hawaii will make it, provided she stays healthy!

If Lanier is healthy, she makes it back in.

Feel comfortable saying Plummer, Rettke, Samedy, Gray, Hentz and Stivrins with stay on the 1st team, barring injury. I could see White, due to being a libero on a young team, and Quade (Without Poulter) dropping off of 1st team.
I think Stone, Hilley, and Lilley may be ready to bump up. Lanier, if back healty, and Micaya White returning to 1st Team. I'll also say one, or both, of Jordan Thompson and Allie Barber become 1st teamers. Their numbers could be huge. Barber may have to carry an even bigger load this year.
I don't see any of the freshman making 1st team this year. In part due to the circumstances they're entering into.

Quads will return as first team AA. Our two setters ( D Brown & M Allison are both setting for team USA this summer. Brown for the WUG team without having played one set of college volleyball. That’s pretty impressive

BYU- Mary Lake should have been 1st Team this year 😠. Hoping this is her year. Gneiting, Eishenberg probably will stay on the same teams unless BYU does really well then she may move up. McKenna Miller? Still a possibility she will redshirt, I think.

Marquette adds lines from pacific, who I think will take a lot of burden off barber. But I definitely see her making first team still. Top 5 OH in the nation imo.

From my team (Michigan), I think Mackenzi Welsh has a chance to at least get back to the HM form of her freshman year; she looked very good in spring play. I think Paige Jones could also have a breakout year, especially if she improves efficiency. As an outside shot, keep an eye on Katarina Glavinic who should see a lot more balls set her way in 2019.

My wish is that Madison Duello moves up a team, and Molly Haggerty comes back.
