From my trivia question.
Top 5 largest college campuses (in acres)
1. Berry College (Rome, GA) -- 27,000+ acres 2. U.S. Air Force Academy (Colorado Springs, CO) -- 18,000+ acres 3. U.S. Military Academy (West Point, NY) -- 16,000+ acres 4. University of the South (Sewanee, TN) -- 13,000 acres
The #5 spot is debatable as the acreage numbers vary depending on the source. For example, Stanford has over 8,000 acres of land they they say is part of the campus even though some of it is spread out all over Palo Alto and others are just undeveloped rolling hills. Others would put Penn State University (University Park, PA) at this spot.
Anyway, some of the most prestigious schools have small campuses, e.g., Caltech (124 acres), MIT (166 acres), Harvard (210 acres), USC (226 acres), Northwestern (231 acres), Georgetown (104 acres).

Paul Smith's College in Paul Smiths, NY has over 14,000 acres so they should probably be 4th. They only have about 1,000 students.

Easy there, Bubba. Relax. Take a cold shower. All will "come back to earth" (Xanax works too).

Cal poly has to be the largest, due to huge working ag lands donated Would think davis is 2nd Irvine and davis have the med schools, so those have to be top 3 You are absolutely correct, ccman. I didn't offer a complete comparison that included two of the largest campuses--in total acreage--in the Big West. According to its website, Cal Poly has a total of 9,678 acres in total with 1,321 acres for the "main core," and 155 acres considered the "campus core." UC Davis web site listed their total acreage as 7,309 with no further breakdowns. Thanks again for the correction! A CAL POLY alum, Albert Smith owner/founder of Orchard Supply Hardware (OSH), donated Swanton Ranch to CAL POLY in 1993 over 3,200 ac. Probably little known trivia. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swanton_Pacific_Ranch

Moving on from land grants, very interesting match tonight when Davis hosts SB. The Aggies are 8-0 at home but UCSB will be the first of the big three they get at home. Conversely, Davis is 0-6 on the road. The Gauchosrolled over the Aggies in Santa Barbara earlier this month (-9, -15, 17) but Davis went to five games on the road vs. UH & CP. Actually Davis seems to like 5 game matches in the BWC as all but their loss to UCSB and a sweep over UCR have gone 5--all home victories over UCI, LB & CSUN.
UCSB is 3-1 in road games so far, losing only to Colorado. They easily swept both UCI & Fullerton in their only two conference away games to date.
In the pre-game write-up from the UCSB site, there was no mention of Lindsey Ruddins's status for tonight which is obviously a major factor, the Gaucho's victory over Poly without her notwithstanding.
I have to think UCSB wins this one but not nearly as easily they did in the first go around.

Since they are travel partners they will play the same opposition each week,...makes it kinda of nice. UCD was within a few points of beating Hawai'i in Hawai'i,...so they have improved and capable of winning any conference match at home. Let's just hope that doesn't happen this weekend.

What's up with the UCSB @ UC Davis match? Online streaming isn't working, and neither is livestats.
