kimberly hildreth and Sarah Schermerhorn (Austin Finalists) are playing Denver. Where going to be in the Q. They maybe doing both? They would have a day to fly and get settled I guess a $100 backup plan isn't bad. Fly southwest and not lose the ticket if they get in the MD.

There will be other teams trying to qualify, eat the entry fee, flight cancellation if you have 1300$ in your pocket (half of a 13th place) and if they don't, fly out Friday..

But with double points, even with this nasty qualifier, if you're serious about playing AVP ball, you need to spend the cash.

No way should a team not qualifying get more than a team who did got in another event (other than maybe large and small fields but probably not even then)

6 per gender of the AVPNext Gold are for MB 2 per gender of the AVPNext U26 are for MB 2 per gender of the AVPNext Sept. at Atlantic City (East End) goes towards a 2020 event. So, 8 total. MB should be a 32 Main draw. 16 Auto + 8 From Next + 8 from Q. Not really a fan at all of the way the AVP is utilizing these wildcards. If they arent going to use them for legitimate qualifiers who are investing their time and money into the AVP, at least leave the spots open for 2 more pods of teams to fight through. I understand growing the sport and using a tournament like Manhattan beach to give AVPNext tournament winners too but doing this every tournament, and using 2 spots in a Gold Series Event like NYC which already has a small 16 team draw is getting ridiculous. I guess well see but if the 2 WC spots for NYC are given to 2 teams that rarely play AVP and won some small time regional AVPNext tournament, that's a very poor choice. Women's finalists and Brooke/Brandie are both in the Q by the numbers, lets see if Donald gives them WCs as opposed to using them on some kids who won a Wisconsin 16 and under double b event

Volleychicks and I got a wildcard into NYC - we're playing in the senior/mixed doubles division - the coolest thing is that, just like in the indoor old guy tourneys I play in, they keep lowering the net little by little as you age up. You should see Volleychicks and I banging the ball on the 6 foot net!!! Now that would be something to see, even with my 2 new bionic hips I'd need a mini tramp to bang the ball ; )
