So, I had a chat with one of the players from Nebraska (circa 2001-ish). She doesn't remember tennis balls during practice, however they did use those mini-volleyballs (the ones the players threw to the crowd during introductions) for some drills. Also, they had machines that could launch volleyballs (to simulate serving). But they didn't use the machines a lot because they had male volunteers who could whip it 60-70 MPH. I have yet to hear from Dani Busboom-Kelly. And Laura Pilakowski has not responded to my friend request on FB. LOL! Apology accepted. I think Busboom and Pilakowski (if she accepts my friend request) will come through for me.

Re: Tennis balls and passing IIRC we emphasize trying to get your elbows tight when forming the platform. If you were to dig or pass a ball. The ball would be caught on your platform where you'd pass the ball.

Laura is from Columbus Ne. So was Amanda Gates! I didn't know Laura; but I knew Amanda and worked with her father! I stay away from tennis balls! I played Tennis with my wife once, and she beat me bad! I was better at ping pong! Forgive me but i'm kinda nuts tonight! Must be my old age! They said I could use tennis balls on my walker! GO HUSKERS

It helped them focus on the ball all the way in to the platform. The tennis balls were hard to see in our gym (lighting). It's rare, but not unheard of.

That image--and others from e.g. Iowa posters--does not show up on my Firefox browser URL for VT. Any advice? I really would like to continue using Firefox.

I remember back in the 2000s when college teams like Nebraska used to practice passing by launching tennis balls at players? Is that experiment over? Are coaches still using tennis balls? I saw the Wahine using tennis balls in passing drills a couple of years ago. But the balls weren't being thrown at them.

i use firefox almost exclusively and i suggest checking your adblockers/scriptblockers if you use them. might also try updating your browser to see if that helps

Yes, that is what I am saying. However, tomclen's "That's what she said" meme is visible. My Firefox is up to date.
