Sure - kind of wondering the arbitrary % breakdown? I am suspicious that saving money decisions will be presented as COVID safety decisions. Although Creighton is so far west geographically for the Big East that there probably isn't as much savings other than the back to back matches. Those in the East are saving on a lot of travel (I think).

Definitely interested to see the rest of the teams' schedules. The west is significantly tougher. RPI advantage there, but if an east team gets hot in conference tournament, they only need truly impressive weekend to get the auto bid.

So here is the travel chart for the conference (minus UConn) Here is a breakdown of 2019 vs 2020 (giving matches are B2B and held home and away) Creighton 2019 | Distance | Creighton 2020 | Distance | Nova 2019 | Distance | Nova 2020 | Distance | St Johns | 1148 | Marquette (B2B) | 426 | Creighton | 1088 | Providence (B2B) | 237 | Seton Hall | 1134 | DePaul (B2B) | 416 | Providence | 237 | St. Johns (B2B) | 95 | DePaul | 416 | Xavier (B2B) | 614 | St Johns | 95 | Georgetown(B2B) | 135 | Marquette | 426 | Butler (B2B) | 517 | Butler | 588 | Seton Hall (B2B) | 80 | Providence (B2B) | 1265 |

St Johns will be good next season. But I wouldn't count out Nova either Both are replacing very good setters and liberos. You could certainly be right, but those are pretty significant question marks.

So each division will play amongst each other four times, with no cross division play. Because the divisions aren't equal numbers, the east will play 20 conference matches and the midwest will only play 16? Amazed that everyone keeps doubling down on the initial overreaction, but I'm glad that there will be some play. each division will have 16 matches. The West teams play each other four times apiece. The East teams play each other three times apiece, with a fourth match against (in all likelihood) their travel partner. You have to imagine those pairings will be Providence-UConn, St. John's-Seton Hall and Villanova-Georgetown.

The document linked above said all volleyball teams would play divisional opponents four times.

Big East making divisions for this season, East and Midwest. East: Georgetown, Providence, St. Johns, Seton Hall, Nova, and UConn Midwest: Butler, Creighton, DePaul, Marquette, and Xavier Finally a new co-champion will be crowned in the realigned BE other than Creighton & Marquette.😏
