I also hope the dragons are more realistic this time.

British accent is so easy. "What?" becomes "Wot?"
Also, for chrissakes, let Carson enjoy his retirement. Mary has always been self-centered and selfish.

I liked the first season, but the series got harder to watch as they ran out of good stories to tell. Started feeling too repetitive.

It was really bad after the first season. Soap opera bad.
But it had some good characters/acting throughout.

It's starting to get easier to recognize the Brits playing Americans in TV & movies. They all seem to have a growl to their voice. Rick Grimes in Walking Dead is one example. Kevin Costner's daughter in the Yellowstone tv series is another.

It's seems like they have to contort their mouths. I'm thinking specifically about Eliza Taylor and Bob Morley in "The 100." That gets me thinking, a really good New Zealand actress who seems really natural in her pronunciation is Rose McIver in "iZombie."

True, but only for certain types of British accent. Some can indeed switch between the accents like a snap of their fingers. Gillian Anderson, the American actress best known as Scully from the X-Files was actually raised in Britain. In her roles on British TV and films, she would speak in her native British accent while in her US roles she switched to an American accent. But let's remember, just like America, Brits have different accents in different regions. Some are easier to imitate than others.

I personally don't have issues with period drama focusing on the elite gentry such as Downton Abbey, if they are entertaining to watch. I didn't mind watching Downton when it aired. There has always been a fascination with the class structure, the constraints and conflict that it generates and the general going-ons of those lords in their manors, from Downton Abbey all the way back to Jane Austen novels. But the thing is, I have spoken to Brits and they have mixed feelings about period shows like Downton. Because it shows only one part of Britain and not necessarily a representative part of Britain. It's good that shows like Peeky Blinders revealed another side to the country, but I have encountered Brits who are mildly frustrated that most Americans only see Britian through shows like Downton. Because modern Britain isn't like that. Nor are Brits now really as class conscious as they were then.

It was awesome--intense, and well-written and acted.
