I agree (and there is only one Tapp there). Honestly there’s so many of them I just assume they’re always there. I thought when Tapp has a good game, it's Hannah, and when she doesn't it's Paige..whoops. But tbh, I keep thinking it's Paige there now due to me remembering how to tell them apart from the 2016 NCAA SF - Paige blonde, Hannah less blonde - not the case any longer. lol

I'd like to see Plummer/Rolfzen at OH, don't care about OPP, either or both. Rosenthal/Alhassan at MB, and either/both setters. It's a 5th place game, after all. I actually think USA will be playing for 7th/8th (last) place. Hopefully Plummer is on a plane headed back to the Bay Area ... Stanford's players reported today.

Paige is still blonde, but now Hannah is just blonder!! It will be easier next year when Paige is off the roster (I’m assuming. She hasn’t been used once this summer). And maybe just because I’m a fan of MN and watched them play a lot over 4 years, but to me they were always easy to tell apart. For identical twins, they’re not all that identical.

I think Paige will kinda be included until she no longer wants to. With her boyfriend on the men’s national team, her sister on women’s, it makes sense just to keep her there because she’s around. Never hurts to have an extra body to give players rest. Paige may be there knowing she’ll never play in a tourney or make a roster

Curry is lucky Karch wasn't there. He might have panicked and thrown Kingdon-Rishel in the libero jersey. I'm glad she got the chance to stick it out. Libero may be Kingdon's only chance with USA. Her passing/defense is only reason she is out there If Kingdon plays libero with "A" team, they would struggle even against Peru and Colombia.

SWP, MKR, and the Tapps should sit this next one out. No point in seeing the vets in there at this point. I agree (and there is only one Tapp there). Tap.

If at this point USA is playing for the sake of playing/developing/just finishing the games, resting the "vets" (Kingdon is the only vet as far as age goes, I'd consider SWP and H. Tapp fledgling, but beyond rookie) would open 2 OH spots and M. That would mean:
Rosenthal/Alhassan in the middle. I have never seen Rosenthal play. Rolfzen and likely move Plummer to OH. Rolfzen has been struggling in receive, but she hasn't had many chances before getting yanked. Can't comment on Plummer. SSS/Lilley with Cuttino/Rivers depending on who's hot that day. Both are rookies. SSS hasn't even played a pro season yet. This effectively leaves no serving subs unless you use MKR or SWP as the sub. Depending on how the fresher OHs do on passing, Curry may be even more vulnerable.
Again, I get it's essentially playing for last place, so why not push and see what everyone's got? Hardly got anything to lose at this point.

ndodge: Not really...just naming a few liberos receiving a little love on Volleytalk rather than abuse... rare as it may be. I have seen Clark, Curry, JWO, and Lake actually play...not the others. I figure someone on that list, however, might one day change the fate of USA liberos.

If Team USA isn't playing for 1st then they need to be playing for the future. There is zero point in going "guns blazing" with our most veteran players at this point. Give some of the women who may have a shot in the USA jersey down the line the development opportunity (i.e. SSS, Plummer, Alhassan, Cuttino). I'd like to see - S: SSS OH: Plummer, Rolfzen MB: Alhassan, Rosenthal OPP: Cuttino L: Curry

I notice no one is calling out a few specific players who yesterday where gods gift to this team, yet not so much today (i.e. Rivers), who went 10 for 32 with 7 errors, proving the point that there are Plummer haters.

Allows her to train for her pro season in Italy for however long she’ll keep playing and be an extra practice player for the US as she’ll be in Southern California anyway...Jaeschke’s not going anywhere for many years on the men’s national team.

It seems the potential and physical talent of this team is unlimited, but it seems that all USA Youth/Junior teams both Women and Men struggled this summer. It seems the World is passing by the Americans at this level; watched many International Teams get " Coached Up " during time outs and breaks whereas the American staffs body-language and demeanor and soft-spoken instruction seemed almost timid as if they are afraid criticize a group of overly sensitive egos. Anybody else get that feeling?

Thought she’d still be in the mix for the future (after Tokyo), especially after seeing the passing of more experienced OHs.

Oh god. Just as the timeout where the US is down by 7. Leave it to Karch's staff to not lay into his team. Happy happy, joy joy. I mean, this was one of the worst showings for the US I've seen in some time. Rhamat?!! Did she block a ball? Never hitting with authority. OHs should take a lesson from the Brazilian OHs. They use the court and see the block. Lilley's location was really, really bad. I've never been a fan of Wilhite Parsons or Kingdon. Both belong on a C team. De-press-ing. USA was down 2 sets and 11-19 in set 3 Coach was talking about keep having good body language like they were 9 year olds Agree on Lilley...her location has been really bad...tons of having to tip and balls to far off net or to close. The libero was quite frankly in over her head. And passing was horrendous.
