The news from Latvia is that she's planning on graduating in 2021. Same as for Hughes/Claes a few years back: money vs. education.

Is she refusing money on the FIVB? Because soon thats going to become a pretty expensive choice Per another post, her father is influential (I think it is politician) in Latvia, and if that is the case, money is NOOOO object. He could probably fund the entire Beach program for the next ten years and not even miss it. Unless Latvia fails to follow the pattern of other Soviet bloc countries, when the Soviet Union split up, being a politician was accompanied by a currency printing press.

Printing press....almost as popular a misconception of people with little or no first hand knowledge. Even more common was the belief of all ex Soviets in the 1990s that anybody who lived in the USA had to be a millionaire Her father co-founded a PR firm in Latvia and most recently worked to the European Union for many years/ She is only taking money for expenses at this time and hopes to return to USC next fall

Hailey is a big get for USC. If she has 2 years of eligibility left, she'll give the team depth at the defender position. Will be interesting to see who she gets paired up with. I could see her playing anywhere from 1s on down. looking forward to watching her play.

I wonder how LBSU feels about someone ditching the program after spending four years training with the indoor and a couple year at beach. Instead of trying to help LBSU reach a high level , she decided to ditch her teammates. Kind of a low class if you ask me.

Or one could look at it as she finished up her undergrad and her 4 year commitment to indoor, Beach VB didn't have the $ for her advanced degree AND she wanted to pursue a Graduate Degree.

Are you really going to criticize a 22 year old from 1. Going where there’s scholarship money 2. Is there even a discussion as to which graduate degrees is better?

LBSU has scholarships and Harward graduated in December and is now pursuing her master degree.

Um, just too many HH women on this squad! 😝. It will surely mix up some people for the next two years. 🤭. The two sisters were going to hard enough.
Haley Hallgren Hailey Harward Harper Hallgren
Is anyone going to bring up the K Plummer to SC Beach rumor again now that her former partner is a Trojan?
On a more serious note, maybe now break up Dorn-Ebertin to block for Harward and Dreeuws?
1) Hallgren - Slater 2) Nourse - Nourse 3) Dennis - Kaiser 4) Dorn - Harward 5) Ebertin - Dreeuws With Doig, Hallgren, Castillo, Vasquez, or Myszkowski possibly stepping up for a starting spot.

VolleyballMag.com's "Beach Bytes" by Travis included an interview of Tina Graudina about receiving the FIVB Most Improved Team, but I want to know what her plans are for AFTER the Olympics. Does she come back to a fortified USC or does she go for the FIVB money? She is a dual-citizen so will she play AVPs? volleyballmag.com/beach-bytes-121319/

It sounds like she has the NCAA championships on her calendar already. Maybe just to support her teammates or maybe to play. Tina is still on the USC Beach roster (which is quickly updated), so there definitely is an understanding with the staff that she’ll come back at some point. Of course, things can change, but I’m pretty confident that at this moment in time, she plans to come back.

Tina will not be playing NCAA this season as she will be preparing for the Olympics, she plans on returning next season to play and graduate.
