I only follow post college volleyball sporadically- like when they actually put a match on TV- and don't follow national team threads at all assiduously, so I've probably missed a lot of discussion, but what is the idea with OHs as libero? When I've watched (once again, a very small sample) it's been mostly Courtney who, while no doubt a nice girl, doesn't seem to either anticipate or move her feet particularly well, and doesn't pass or dig with unusual accuracy. Any number of liberos have done these things better in college- do international liberos need to be taller for some reason? Do full time liberos get paid so poorly that they give up the game? Do great college players get overwhelmed by the speed and power of the international game, and why would it be any different for someone less experienced in the position? Inquiring minds want to know. She has out received the other libero candidates in the USA gym. If someone who played libero in college outperforms her in this critical skill then that player will take the position. So far no one has done that despite many nominations from fans of various college programs. Well, guess I'd have to take your- or Karch's- word on that- Courtney seemed to be pretty regularly flummoxed by short serves (and tips) while I've watched, but once again that's only a few sets. The US doesn't seem to produce many great out of system hitters and has had (up to the present anyway) a run of dominant middle hitters, so I can see fixating on passing, but it would be nice to see a few more balls come up.

If you’re calling me a homer, please note that I have NEVER campaigned for Mary Lake to take Robinson’s place, or Courtney’s for that matter. I want what’s best for team USA, and IMO, that’s Robinson.

Also, along with most others, Karch doesn't believe that women can serve top spin jumpers effectively. He's right. When is the last time USA gave up ten points straight at the senior level? It happened this summer, at the hands of a jump server

Please feel free to add your own. Nothing too personal, please. 1. What do you see in Megan Courtney no one else sees? 2. Why don’t we set the middle more? 3. Why can’t we pick up tips? 4. Where the hell is Ogbogu? 5. Is Kelsey Robinson demanding to be an OH? 6. Was Morgan Hentz invited to train this summer? If no, why not? 7. Why don’t you allow jump serves? 8. Where do you keep your medals? 9. What happened to Luka’s foot? 10. How much did you get when you sold your house? Where do you live now? 11. Why do you say “bro” on broadcasts? 12. Do your kids play volleyball? 13. Do you regret putting Courtney Thompson on the 2016 roster? 1. Best of a really bad group of American Liberos (Liberi?) 8. Safe deposit box at the bank. 9. Skydiving accident. 10. $3.55million. Don't know where he is living now, but with his kids grown, I suspect he is downsizing. 12. One of his sons was on the volleyball team at UCLA, but he never actually got into a match.

Is there a forum just amongst coaches that complain how annoying some anonymous volleytalk posters are?

21. After you get fired for not living up to VolleyTalkers' expectations, which coach would be best suited to lead Team USA and satisfy these unwashed masses?
