Long Beach State This is insane. SIX price points for a women’s volleyball match?? Do you want the regular discounted seats, the regular regular seats, the regular premium seats, or the discounted premium regular seats? Is this real? (That is an honest question. That poster looks like something my brother made in a sixth grade graphic design class in 2001. And I refuse to believe that this isn’t satire.)

Whomever made that hasn't read Yang's Effects of Menu Pricing study or that Economist subscription example that Dan Ariely writes about in Predictably Irrational.

Nebraska: $306 for 17 matches. Did you have to make a "donation" for your seats too?

MN ... about $950/seat for courtside (court-end sounds wrong). Includes 1/3 of a parking pass, plus meals before each match, and the donation to the program.

"Courtside" to me means the first row, where your view might be obscured by standing players and coaches...

Agreed. Plus, “side” isn’t the place to watch from (regardless of what I used to believe). I suppose “Premium Endcourt Seating” is most correct, though it doesn’t roll of the keyboard that well. ETA: we do have to ask the players to keep off to the side periodically... they often like to wrap around the corner, and push the ball-kid out of the way too (those brutes!)

Is this real? (That is an honest question. That poster looks like something my brother made in a sixth grade graphic design class in 2001. And I refuse to believe that this isn’t satire.) It is real. Remember LBSU volleyball when it was going was a hugely popular attraction and the only game in town. Huge money maker for the athletic dept when Gimmillaro had it really going. They drew crowds that dwarfed USC and UCLA volleyball.

Stanford $160. The cheapest seats start at $110. (Single match tickets are $10 - 20.) I consider my seat in a prime location a bargain considering the quality product Stanford puts on the floor including quite possibly the most exciting player in the sport, Morgan Hentz. Of course, I do throw more money at the program and support the team by going to some road matches, but that is all voluntary. Taking your family to several home matches isn't very expensive by Bay Area standards.

Oh, man, these prices!
I remember going to watch the Hawaii Islanders minor league baseball team at Aloha Stadium in the 1970s for, like, $1.00/person on a Sunday with my dad and siblings. A foul ball came flying our way and hit a back wall. It made such a cracking noise. I realized then people can get killed if they get hit by a fly ball and they're not wearing mitts.
