These two playing Dana would be better suited for games outside a bar in Waco.

If Saturday Night Live ever does a beach volleyball skit, it'll look like this......with one guy maybe wearing a Trump wig......

That fact that one of them can actually hand set keeps them from the worst ever.. I've seen a lot worse in Qs. but I get your point 405LAX

Also why assume that because they play in Qs and arent very good that they are also A-holes? We all know some of the "Im a pro" insufferable types but its been my experience that the less skill a VB player has generally the less likely he is to be a jackass. Look across the net in this one for an example. Probably just players that want to test themselves and have a little money to spare. Should there be some kind of rule to keep teams like this out? Sure, but the fact that there isnt doesnt reflect badly on them

An easy search shows they are both from Charlotte so they probably can hang around there and thought why not? I would bet you find these types in 1* FIVB and in really any sport where the barrier to entry is disposable income

Sure, but the fact that there isnt doesnt reflect badly on them I mean, would these guys even last in AA? I think there are other more appropriate places to "test themselves". I agree that the less skill generally the less likely they are to be a jackass, and that's cool if they have money to spare. But i don't think this match belongs in an AVP qualifier.

I agree guest2; 405 is notorious for hating on people who would actually dare to have fun (God-forbid). I've never heard him bag on Ty Loomis for entering and never having a chance to win. I can see it now, "The 405LAX Invitational Tour, a 5 team Main Draw, consisting of only teams that can win. While the stupid AVP keeps filling it's coffers by charging 100's of teams an entry fee, the 405LAX Tour immediately goes bankrupt because he cannot support the free hotel demands and appearance fees of his 5 teams." It leads me to believe that 405 has never competed at anything except Fortnite. These guys are why the beach game is popular all over the country, and millions of people play, from 12 years old up to 80. Why are they even playing if they can't win an AVP tournament? I'm 45 years old, and it's been a minute since I have played in a quali, but even knowing that I won't make the MD, won't keep me from playing in one in the future.

Having never played in a Q, it's still on my list of "to-do"s even though I won't be making the MD. I wouldn't care that I'd be 48, just something I always regret not doing when I should have. Look at it this way, their $250 entry paid for 2 refs on the day.

Those guys are terrible, but the AVP needs them to pay the bills.. Needs all of them.... Exactly this, I can't stand watching some of these guys just get waxed sometimes by a higher +/- than their combined game scores, but AVP needs every cent they can get and if they can hold a massive Q like this they won't ever stop doing it. Now if the water level is super high in Chicago like they are anticipating and they let guys like this play then there is a serious issue, no sense in wasting daylight letting these matches happen, or another team not getting to play that has a chance of making it out of the Q that is a whole different story.

Dabbled a little once upon a time, never closer than three torn ACLs by opponents to qualifying and never told anyone I was a pro - I would have had it seemed like something women would either have believed or been impressed by though - but I dont have a losing record overall in Qs!
