No it isnt, but they have not failed at business. They had a poor year and made a bunch of mistakes and lost some money. Thats hardly unprecedented and they arent out of business yet nor is there any indication they are teetering on the brink. Well, of course they failed at business. We witnessed it. Failure doesn't mean that they can't try again, or pivot, or do better next time, but I'm certain it caused the Mays to take a serious look at their strategy. Under this standard would you say the AVP has failed? Certainly much more successful at running events in the sense that they are still running them and have been for years, but would you adjudge the recognition of losses + pivot (at least attempted) as better from a business perspective than continuing to attempt slow growth and likely still losing money

The difference between Uber and the AVP is that they are willing to continue sustaining the losses. Failure is when you fold-up, imo.

Thats what I thought...LOL . . . When I renew with Paul at the DIG booth each year, he tries to hand me a complimentary copy of the new edition and I decline as there is NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING that compares to going to the US Mail and getting the "white envelope" with DIG....Now, I'm CLEARLY a baby boomer still doing print, so I am the perfect target market . . . LOL . . . Anway, it DOES come up with stuff you don't get elsewhere; not much, but something, always!

I love that fresh copy in the mailbox too, although in the old days I often couldnt resist when i saw Volleyball or VBM at the newstand so I used to often end up with two copies of one or the other (Imagine two volleyball magazines on a newstand in the Mid-Atantic region 100 miles from the ocean)
