Frohling is fantastic. I hope I spelled her name right. Definitely in contention for WCC FOY. She is going to be a very special player for San Diego in the next 3-4 years.

San Diego has a well balanced team. Good to see them winning against the best.

Where would the play in regionals? That has not been decided yet. When the brackets come out that's when we'll know where everyone will be playing.

I would think after getting the season sweep of BYU and likely WCC championship, Frohling will get it over Bower at BYU. Agree, she has been good and will be a force in the next few years.

This is a team that no one wants in the tournament. So many weapons (Jacobsen, Lukes, Froehling and Fayad) a great setter an libero. This is a much better team than the one that advanced to the sweet 16 last year.
It will be interesting to see where the committee sends them.

This is likely correct. Two years ago when USD unexpectedly beat BYU late in the season, the obvious choice for POY (RJP) did not win. Seems like the conference winner usually gets the POY. However, the FOY has come from any team, historically, but when it's head to head between teams, I think they will sway to the conference winner and head to head winner. Add to that, Bower had one of her worst outings agains USD, and that seems to come into play. And I think Frohling has been a difference maker for USD. She wasn't playing early in the season, and since she's come on, she has been an attacking and blocking force for teams to have to deal with.

Not to side track, but RJP was not the obvious POY pick in 2017....Gengenbacher was really really good her senior year and USD was ranked top 10-15 all year.

RJP was also 'really really good' , and I think if that match had gone the other way, RJP would have been the POY. It just seems like that's how it goes.

Gengenbacher was very good, but RJP was just a different beast in conference that year. Incredible production.
This year feels similar to me, a USD player will get it, and I understand bc they will win WCC. But is not Mckenna Miller the POY?

Where would the play in regionals? They could very well be sent to Palo-Alto as a drive-in.
