This has been a terrific summer for development of our younger players.

Ma’a just had his best game of his career, according to the coach. Where did he sign to play pro next year? He will be with Stade Poitevin Poitiers in the French Ligue A.

He will be with Stade Poitevin Poitiers in the French Ligue A. Is that a good team/league for him to be with? I would say it is a great league to start with for a high level college player. Micah Christenson already had about two seasons starting for the national team, so his jump to Lube as a rookie was pretty phenomenal. Guys like Dave Smith, Murphy Troy, Dan McDonnel, Dustin Watten, Taylor Averill, Michael Saeta, Jayson Jablonsky have all spent time there (among others). The American influx started to pick up around 2012-2013. Dave Smith had quite a career in France before making the move to Poland. I would say it is in the second tier of leagues in Europe. 1. Italy, Poland, Russia 2. Germany, France, Turkey, Belgium 3 and 4. Greece, Czech Republic, Serbia, Austria, Finland, Bulgaria, Romania, Bosnia, Switzerland Spain, Portugal, Croatia 5. Hungary, Cypress, England, Montenegro, Norway I understand people might disagree on some of these, and people might have better opinions when looking at data. I was just jotting down things off the top of my head. What is very interesting about the French league is the amount of parity. Yes, Tours has won it many times. Chaumont has made a run, reaching the finals (and winning one) the last three years. Though every year it seems like the positions 2-9 in the regular season are separated by about two matches and six points. Chaumont got to the finals, and they were around the 6th seed in the playoffs. They also had a great run in the Champions League. If he gets into the starting lineup, he will have a great chance to play some good volleyball. They finished 7th in the league last year, but the middle of the table fluctuates significantly each year.

I was hoping he would get that surgery now if not sooner. Depending on the extent, I would think he will be ready to go come late July 2020. For Japan at the end of this month, I expect Matt to shift over to take some extra work on the Left and Patch and Shaw to battle for more consistent production on the opposite. I ,too, hope TJ will be up for the challenge. This Norceca tourney will be a great opportunity to demonstrate some consistent leadership and production. * OH is super thin in Anaheim right now Do you think Sander will recover fully? Will he be like he was offensively?

Semifinals USA vs Mexico Canada vs Cuba
Notice how Canada scheduled each of their pool games at 8pm timeslot and yet their semi at an earlier slot, leaving Pool B winners (USA or Cuba) playing semi at 8 and having less time before the next days final, which is in the afternoon
Like France accuses Poland of scheduling Frances game at 9pm the day before their matchup against Poland in the early afternoon in the Olympic Qualifier. Fivb just sits there and let the host country do whatever they want as long as they pay a half million dollar hosting fee

But the score was much closer today -21 22 24. I have high hopes of this lineup beating Cuba and challenging Canada, which may be a tougher task Cuba is that sandbaggin SOB.

In fairness, Cuba has way better serving than Canada. Our sweep in pool play was a hard earned one

I didn’t watch the game, so what went wrong for Canada? Evans flopped as usual?
