Preliminary rosters dropped today. Already some interesting additions and subtractions across several teams. Please explain www.fivb.com/You mean the 25 man rosters that appear for each team ? Taylor Sander is still on ours. These aren't official rosters. I gotta believe we are weeks away from official rosters for the guys. Players are getting hurt and suspended left an right these weeks leading up to the World Cup.

I see nothing surprising on the US prelim roster. 11 players will need to be cut, and I'm guessing most of us could name who they will be (subject to change due to injury or other reasons, of course!)! Probably a few more weeks of training yet before they leave.

There are some notable absences on a few rosters. Canada seem to be leaving quite a few A team players off. Grankin is back on Russia's roster but Polataev and Butko aren't present. Sebastian Sole isn't on Argentina's roster. I know these aren't the official rosters but we can draw a few early conclusions as to the level of play we will get from certain teams. Also interestingly Bartosz Kurek is back on Polands roster. Poland might be at full Olympic Tilt for this tournament.

From volleyworld: A day before the start of the 2019 EuroVolley, Poland National Team head coach Vital Heynen crossed out two players from the preliminary list: Bartosz Kurek and Bartosz Kwolek. Although there were indications that world Volleyball superstar Kurek will play the continental championship, he was not included in the final roster by Heynen because has not yet reached the optimal form after a spinal injury, which he has been treating since April

He was lights out during the VNL. Guess he is too similar to Leon, Kubiak and Szalpuk?

Christenson, Ma’a Anderson, Patch A Russell, Jaeschke, Muagututia, DeFalco Holt, Smith, Jendryk, Stahl E Shoji, Dagostino
B Sander can make the trip if they bring 15 players.
Without Taylor it’ll be extremely difficult for us to win (defend our title) or even medal. When games get tough against Brazil, Russia, Poland and Italy, Speraw will have no choice but to shift Matt to OH and just pray Patch delivers once. Since Patch has no serve, his elusive offensive power won’t probably be enough to turn the tide

Conte is with his club Cruzeiro already. Having qualified for Tokyo, Argentina is basically done with this NT season. They don’t even send A team to South American Championships happening right now

Brazil as always will likely send everyone to Japan. They were under fire for ‘underperformance’ at VNL finals. U bet they will wanna redeem that.
European teams are playing European Championships right now, which may be more important to them than World Cup. Wonder what teams Italy, Russia and Poland will send to Japan. If Jurantorena or someone else like Kubiak sits out, I’ll like our chances more

So , yeah, they are basically done with the NT this summer. 😎 These actions and those of Kubiak and Russian HC Busato are embarrassing and have no place in our sport

Three games will be played at each venue each match day. I think the "my time" has days overlapping....ex it seems we play Canada and Russia on the same day. That's quite an interesting 25-man roster for us (Canada). The entire B-team roster and 3 2000/2001 born players are in there. I'm curious to see who actually gets in game action. There's enough of the A team that we could field close to what our starting lineup is, but it would be way more fun to see some of the kids get a chance. Glen Hoag isn't even showing up for this tourney

🤔 Leaving some starters behind (only think this because of previous comments from Speraw about using WC to get some guys some time)? No K. Shoji? Shaw on the roster? B Sander on the roster to replace his brother? Please tell me no Watten. Edit: Looks like Michael Saeta (!!!!!) is going to Japan (if you go by his Instagram post and the comments). What in the what?! Has he been on a roster this summer? The only two that appear for sure not to be going to Japan from the 25 man roster are Schmidt & Jarman.
