Yes, 2S has a chance, just a very slim probability chance. They would have to make final 4 in just about every tournament they played or make finals of the one 5* left and then make final 4 in a majority of remaining tournaments. IF they did that, they would arguably be the hottest US team heading into the Olympics and deserve their spot and would be a Top 3-4 team in the world over that time but...again, chances of this happening are very low as even when healthy, have never showed that level of talent.

They would need to basically be perfect, make final 4 for the 4* events and KWJ/BS not improving upon their previous finishes.

Fiscally smart move.
That’s 3 coaches in one year. Interesting.
Congrats to CJW

I swear that when Lambourne was announced as the coach, the article said that a condition of him accepting was that Jennings would be the assistant. "Condition" is my interpretation of how it was worded.

That makes sense. I feel Rich is a solid brain trust to have in your corner.

If Casey is the perfect coach for them, why did it take so long to figure that out?

I have updated page 1 to include NORCECA points for KWJ/BS

KWJ picked up 120 points and now have a 340 point lead over Slaes just by beating one viable team. They may not have an another opportunity to improve on a finish. I think that lead is fairly insurmountable.

^ not sure what you mean. There are three 3* tournaments that give the same points as NORCECA, and 4 or 5 4* tournaments between now and June 15, 2020.
Lots of opportunities, and it's still basically a tied race if you count top 8 finishes to date.

Kerri and brooke split 600 points for the win so it does increase there lead in the Olympic qualification process.

Honestly I think 2S can work their way back into this after looking at the 2020 schedule. This is year is going to be madness.

^ not sure what you mean. There are three 3* tournaments that give the same points as NORCECA, and 4 or 5 4* tournaments between now and June 15, 2020. Lots of opportunities, and it's still basically a tied race if you count top 8 finishes to date. While helpful, counting the top 8 results is faulty in logic. It ignores the fact that these teams already have 12 finishes and are starting to replace their worst results. You need a good finish to help your Olympic prospects at this point.
I do think the lead for KJW/BS is fairly safe/insurmountable given the competition. 2S are virtually out of it unless they run the table with 5ths and Top 4s. Stocksen, while solid, is already nearly 1000 points behind. Slaes are really only in the race because they had the initial advantage of seeding at the beginning of the qualification process and took advantage of some weak fields and cake walk draws in opportune events. Even then, they weren't routinely getting to top 4s at 4 stars which is basically what is needed at this point to make any meaningful headway. They aren't exactly setting the city on fire nor do they have a ton of upside.
Also, you have to account for the fact that these fields in the remaining tournaments are going to be MUCH stronger (want proof----just look at the upcoming 3 star field. Then compare that to any of the 3 stars fields in the last 12 months). Last year, the top teams mostly picked and chose their spots (see ATeam). Next year, all the top teams will be jostling for momentum and position and wanting to build into form. Those top 4s will be much harder to come by when the top 4 are routinely taking up the spots in the medal rounds. Opportunities will be fewer and harder to come by. This NORCECA was one of the last good ones. Kerri/Brooke picked up 120 extra points just by beating ONE Top 20 team. The rest of the field were complete rollovers.
So yes I think Kerri/Brooke are going to qualify. It also helps that they are just the better team.
