The 2020 BJNC Tournament manual has not been updated as to Rules/Regs, and can be found here: www.teamusa.org/USA-Volleyball/Calendar/2020/June/27/BJNC-2020/Participant-Info/Tournament-ManualThe 2019-20 SCVA Parent Handbook is here: www.scvavolleyball.org/home/180020323/180020323/Images/Parent%20Handbook%202020.pdf Pertinent portions are on p 3. (B. Registration) and p. 8 (J. Frozen Rosters). The latter doesn't look to have changed. The registration rule seems to provide a black and white answer to this issue: "It is important for you to know you are agreeing to a commitment to the club for the entire season. There are no releases and transfers. Once a player is registered with a club, he/she will participate with that club for the entire season. Understand that if the club your player commits to chooses not to participate in a year end event, this is a situation to handle between you and the club. The SCVA will not be involved in any releases regarding this matter." (Bold in original, other emphasis mine). ETA: Did anyone see this document before tryouts? I didn't, nor did I think to look, but in season transfers aren't really on my radar for any number of reasons - my kids with his team come hell or highwater. This is new language - for comparison, the 2019 manual only stated: "As a parent, please take an extra minute to read what you are signing and make sure the form is filled out correctly. This will speed things up and get your athlete on the court faster. No registration materials will be accepted at any tournament site." for reference, the discussion last spring was in the following thread, and p.2 has the details on how it worked in practice: volleytalk.proboards.com/thread/77051/spring-season-update-regarding-rosters That’s 15s. Only at the three big tourneys were we guaranteed to see each other, and then, only in your narrow performance bracket (i.e. son's team played OCVC/Coast/SCVC repeatedly, MBS / BB / Wave / Seaside a couple, and never once saw Genuine). I was part of that Spring transfer conversation last year, and this language looks very new, and much more concrete. I am not sure how an athlete would now argue for release. I do not see any other gray area - pick your club wisely! Too late. Already made the decision for better or worse.

A ton of movement in San Diego for the 17s and 18s. Still trying to figure out who went where.
I do know the biggest change was for that Epic 17s team from last year, they seem to have all moved to various other clubs (wave and coast for sure and maybe Seaside.

Agree, it is always interesting to see who jumps from the 14s to 16s due the waiver. 15s - This is the wildcard due to the age waiver issue. 16s - MB surf, but it could be Balboa Bay, 352, or SAS (if they come) 17s - Dont see anyone beating Rockstar What makes you think Rockstar 17s has this all locked up? They are a great team, especially when healthy. Did they add another OH ? When injury hit last season, they finished 9th (Rockstar 16) after a tight loss to a good Borinquen team. They had all their key players, but certainly not at 100%. They need more depth at OH. I cannot figure out that Wave 17 team. (16s from last year) - They are very long. Looks to be solid at every position. Why cant they win? That MB SURF 15s team last year was very good, so hard to think they wont do well again, even with losses. I am sure they added bodies too - maybe the gained as much as they lost? Athletes would want to join that winning team. Don't forget rockstar has the new recruit Kristoff Corbel, cousin of klistan lawrence, who's grown from 5.8 to 6' and will no doubt grow at least another inch, dare I say 2. His spike touch is a ridiculous 300cm and he will no doubt carry the team to gold.

Gotta strong feeling he's going to be a big piece in Rockstars offense this year.

They recently picked up rockstars starting middle Brennan Morgan which is a huge blow to their offense. I believe they have the best pins in the age group, Max Gordon, Jack Kane and Dillon Klein. Setter is Troy Mcdonald who grew 3 inches over the summer and is now 6,4. Middles being Teddy Terril (6,7) Brennan Morgan (6,5) and libs are Gus wibbs and Mike faloona. I see them posing a big threat to Rockstar and balboa this year. Please correct me if i'm wrong with any of these stats^

Agree, 12 max - not sure how you’d make 15 work Online Roster updated, now 14 for SCVC 16's. As noted above, 4 former MBS 15's now at SCVC - L, S, OH, and an A2 level OH who played OPPO for the Surf. Taking a look at my game pics, all except the L were in rotation for MBS last year (light rotation per my memory) - very solid (ETA: well above average) players, not starters. A note based upon a convo last night with my son, who is admittedly a far observer of the game than I am: MBS 15's played a 6-2 every time he watched or played them last year. Their "primary" setter, if you will, is one of my favorite players in this age group and someone that should be on the radar for post HS play (Ryan Sprague) - but the loss of that second setter to SCVC - well, quality setters don't grow on trees, now do they? MBS 16's are still my pre-season favorite.

You probably already know who I am but my name is Jim Garrison and I am the middle blocker for Rockstar 17's. I am a famous Tik Toker with 40K followers. I will be doing a meet and greet at the first SCVA tournament this year where I will take pictures and signing autographs. Also please follow my Tik Tok @daviddobriktwin because I'm trying to get to 50K before Halloween. Thank You guys for all of the support! Love You! I'll be waiting there, me and my son!

SCVC 18s is definetly, no doubt, going to beat Balboa 18s every time they play them because Wedbush, Barnett, and Shane Strokyles are so much better than Devorhack, Bianchi, and Rogreeguez. Not to mention their world class national team ready pins and middles.

Bryce Dvorak is a great player, don't get me wrong, but in my opinion I think SCVC is going to prevail this season. Also, I hear his brother is quite the athlete. Also heard that he touches 11'4, but I'm doubtful of that. I concur with your opinion on SCVC's superiority, however, I shall dissent and say that Dvorak is in fact wack and a hack.

I don't understand the hype behind him. The dude has switched clubs a million times. The lack of loyalty and integrity along with the arrogance he has on the court is shameful. SCVC looking solid this season although their middle situation is a bit troubling. I'm hopeful they'll find a way
