I really don’t know much about AJ Koele but could she be a middle? From what I hear and have seen, she’s not good enough to ever really see the court. Her very isn’t very high, so lack range hitting and height blocking. She was listed as a Middle at MSU but I think played OPP and averaged a little over 1.8 kills/set. That’s all I know about her. Maybe Baylor can snag a top middle looking for a new home. They’ve had good luck with transfers- Philo and Milana.

2020 - Cassie Davis, MB/OPP, 6'4 - Giselle Vogel, Setter/OPP, 5'11 2021 - Faith Lynch, Setter, 5'6 - Molly Kipp, Setter, 5'11 - Lauren Briseno, Libero, 5'7 - Ava Grace Haggard, MB/OPP, 6'1 - Faye Wilbricht, Outside Hitter, 5'11 - Riley Simpson, Outside Hitter, 6'4 2022 - Sophia Keene, Outside Hitter, 6'2 - Alexis Dacosta, OH/DS, 5'10 - Allie Sczech, OPP, 6'4 2023 - Harley Kreck, Setter/OPP, 5'11 How interesting. Baylor will have 4 setters in 2021 since Williams is redshirting. Looks like Baylor needs a strong transfer this upcoming season or that KJ/Campbell need to step it up. Kind of surprised in the shorter setter route too. Lockin is almost 6-1 which makes a huge difference. Still, the coaching staff has proven they can both recruit and train very well, so am pumped to see what unfolds over the coming years. They may not all be used as setters. Some could be coming as defensive specialists or hitters. The position listed is just what they play now.

Jhenna Gabriel was a high school setter, but was recruited by Texas as a DS and actually began her freshman season as a DS.
You might want to take a stab at designating likely scholarship players on your list. Volleyball is the one sport where preferred (recruited) walk-ons show up on recruiting lists along with scholarship players.

I hope most of the non-Christian athletes, especially the foreign ones, aren't put off by the prayer requests. I'm a nonbeliever despite having gone to Catholic school in my youth and I'm not bothered by it. Usually, when people are doing group prayers with their heads down, I respectfully remain quiet and have my head down too, but I don't close my eyes and I sometimes look around. I certainly don't pray. That's just going too far.
From outside Baylor, I haven't heard any complaints about this from Big 12 schools. My understanding is that Baylor extends the invitation to the other team but does not push it. Some teams accept, some do not. This is something I believe is a bit more common in the South and Southwest. I've many times seen groups of players after a football game that circle together for a prayer.

Braya Hunt was recruited as a setter but has spent the past few seasons as the DS for the Opposite. Reminds me of how Nicole Dalton was used.

Very similar. You may even see tomorrow night a bit of our latest variation. Usually just for one rotation, we'll replace Gabriel on the front row with Phillips and Claire Hahn will be the primary setter.

Baylor’s done a little switch up a few times as well and Hunt would set to Lockin to swing on the right side. Not very often buts it’s been done. Lockin can swing really well.

Having just looked at the overall and conference stats for all Big12 teams, it is clear that Baylor needs to start serving tougher. They are 2nd to last in aces overall and in the conference. I get wanting to be consistent, but against teams like Texas, their serving isn't going to cut it. The Baylor block and defense are normally great, but Texas was in system the entire match. It will be the same thing in the tournament if Baylor doesn't change things up. I feel like they have the fire-power to be good servers. Been kind of unimpressed with Wulf and Bramschrieber as they served much better last year. Still time to improve in this area for sure. Really thankful for the Texas match as a BU fan as it exposed so many things we can work on before tourney time.
Also, anyone else noticed how Pressley has significantly declined in efficiency and game IQ compared to the beginning of the season? Her conference numbers for efficiency aren't good at all. If things don't change, an argument could be made for White to take conference POY as she has both a good k/s and efficiency stats. I want her to do well, so the second half of conference is exciting. She still has the k/s numbers, but is not hitting smart. Even against WVU, Pressley has several balls go into the net.
Thankfully, after the Texas match, Baylor picked it back up again in the middle. Glad Lockin is connecting better.

Pressley may be in her own head a little but she posted on social media that she was deleting it for awhile. I have no doubt she’ll bounce back to her normal self here soon.
McGhee was connecting really well with Lockin against WVU which was great to see. If she can get going along with Marieke then some of that pressure can be taken off of Pressley.
