It definitely hurt them. I only saw sets 3 and 4. Lowe looked good. Orro's setting is a bit wonky. Gennari was a liability on serve receive for sure. Good win for Novara at 3-1 but Busto definitely put up a good fight with the first two sets going in to overtime.

This weeks action saw 4 matches go to five sets.
Ogbogu and Hill started for the first time this season for Conegliano as did most of the bench and they managed to barely shut out Caserta (Alhassan's team).
Hill went 15/27 with two errors, bagged two blocks and two aces for 19 points making her the top scorer for her team.
On the other side for Caserta Canadian Alexa Gray was the match top scorer with 4 aces, 2 blocks and 20 kills on 33 attempts!
Alhassan didn't have a great match going 6/21 on attack with 4 errors and only one block.
Ogbogu went 9/12 on attack in the first 4 sets with 1 block. However she had 5 service errors on only 8 attempts.
DeGennaro and Wolosz didn't play today. Sylla and Egonu came in in the 5th set and brought it home. Egonu went 8/13 with 2 aces for 10 points after coming in during the 4th set and starting the 5th.
Really hoping Ogbogu makes her way into the starting line-up. I will be shocked if Geerties gets the start ahead of Hill going forward especially if Hill passes with such stellar numbers as she did today with 85% Positive and 77% Perfect with one error. Interestingly Sorokaite started on the left and had a bad passing day with 7 errors. Enweonwu started at Opp.

Basically every USWNT player in this league has at least started 1 match with Hill and Ogbogu getting their first starts today.
Jones-Perry is currently just a serving sub which is kinda a bummer. Not a whole lot of development can occur if the only court time she is seeing is in the practice gym.
Karsta Lowe is being heavily relied on with Busto. She sees a lot of the sets which is a good thing. To me Alessia Orro is not that great of a setter. He positioning to the pins is often too far and too fast. Lowe, Herbots and Gennari do a good job to even put the ball away half the time. Orro's big strength so far has been setting OOS and on the A and B quick in front of her to Washington and Bonifacio who are quite the combo of middles.
I think Firenze is one of the most exciting teams to watch in the league this year with tons of young talent on the team.
Scandicci loves playing 5 sets. 3 out 4 of their games, and their only wins have all gone to a 5th set. They are seeing tons of roster rotation which I guess is a good thing.
Chieri is doing as well as can be expected. Poulter is doing a good job leading the team considering she didn't start the season with them due to the NORCECA Championships. They are 2 and 2 right now.
Cuttino seems to have cooled off after starting the first two weeks on fire. I really like her playing with Antonijevic who in my opinion should be Serbia's starting setter once Ognjenovic retires. Antonijevic just runs such a good offense for Casalmaggiore. Lots of talent on that roster too!
On the whole I think the league is younger this year than last year which is so exciting. Who will be the team/players who rise to occasion?!

Conegliano is by far the best team in the league.
Look at roster. Though other teams can surprise me. But, i want wolosz and other setter to distribute the offense and not just focusing on egonu. Hill will be challenge with her consistency in reception and fd because we all know sylla is inconsistent on that department. I think conegliano middle is very deep you don't know who u want to put in there.

Anyone who thinks Hill is inconsistent in reception in the Italian league is not spending any time watching the matches. Last year she was rated the best all around OH in league and is considered one of the top receivers in Italy. She has already signaled that her heart is in club and not the NT as her connection with Karch is like trying to hit with a bad setter.

The early surprise this season has been the unexpected break out of Magdalena Stysiak from Poland. During Poland's NT run Stysiak started as an OH. Her reception was a huge problem and it limited her time on the court. There were flashes of the power she possesses at 6’7”. For Scandicci she was brought in as a backup for Sloetjes at OP and at only 20 she appeared a safe bet for improvement and help off the bench when needed. She got her first chance to start in the fourth set of Scandicci’s first match against Pomi when they fell behind 1-2. Although Scandicci pulled out the five set win her performance was sub par. 9-29-7.
In their second round upset loss to Cuneo she subbed in only and went 9-14-4 (K-A-E). Next against Bergamo she again got subbed in the middle of the fourth and led Scandicci to a comeback five set win. She was 10-21-4.
This earned her the start against Monza and she responded with her break out performance 28-54-6. She played with such élan, confidence, and power that I think Coach Marco has no choice but to continue to start her going forward. No one saw a still very talented Sloetjes suddenly on the bench for a top Italian team.
Stysiak looks to be on the verge of joining the ranks of a new golden era of young talented OP’s. Her Polish teammate, Smarzek, is already breaking out in just her second season in Italy. Unfortunately for Poland they can’t play two OP’s at the same time. If Stysiak can continue this level of performance then Scandicci is going to be a very tough out later in CL and even in the Italian Cup.

My favorite teams are Firenze because of Emily Maglio, and Bergamo because of Annie Mitchem. I like them so much I was willing to pay the $7.88 per month to watch the Italian stream. I don't often do that.

Caserta (Alhassan) won against Monza. Poulter’s team also won. Foecke’s team lost badly. She’s still the worst receiver for the last 2 matches. Novara won in 5.

Hancock is awful..... bad set after bad set. Her serve is so damn beautiful. It is valuable. 0 aces against Scandicci....and she never caused them any troubles or put them out of system. But I do agree with you her service can be more valuable than Carlini for the backup spot in Tokyo.
