I didn't get to watch the whole match, but Jordan had some nasty swings on the right side as well And played defense, picking up some bombs. Serve was strong, too. Glad she had a good first game, and win, with Fenerbahce. Cue the criticism because it was a sweep v THY.

JT will get her chance to prove herself. Great first match for her

Can Fener just replace Brankica? Kelsey is equally, if not more, terminal as her anyway. They need a better passing unit to stand a chance at the main trophy. Brankica is definitely a passing liability. But Kelsey is absolutely not more terminal than her. Brankica is hitting .389 on the season, with 4.05 kills/set. Kelsey is hitting .331 on the season with 2.73 kills/set.

They've only played 3 matches in CL, so not going to be significant, but here they are: Brankica: 3.27 kills/set, .411 hitting percentage Robo: 3.09 kills/set, .415 hitting percentage

I'm not trying to say she's a good passer. She isn't. But she brings so much offense (especially OOS), that most of the time, I think that compensates for her poor passing. I think Serbia's success the last 4 years speaks largely to that.

I think it’s possible that her SR has gotten worse in the past 2 years. Before on the Serbian NT, teams would always serve Busa/Milenkovic/Malesevic/Nikolic, whomever was the other other passer. With Busa being the primary service target this entire quad, she has turned into a decent passer. Brankica hasn’t had to pass a ton but that is likely to change. If other teams are smart they will serve her off the court. Serbia will struggle to be lights out. Yes they have her and Boskovic who are wizards OOS but just think how good they could be if she could pass better.

Playing in Japan didn't do much to help improve her passing.

She was supposed to be on the Turkish NT during the Olympic Qualifiers but she had an small injury that kept her from going. Definitely not her best match. She won't make the Tokyo roster as Simge Sebnem Akoz has that spot on lock.

I am LOVING Robinson and Thompson playing on the same team. I watched the match and what a line-up Fenerbahce has.
Their next two games are on 1/22 vs Budowlani Lodz in Poland for Champions League and on 1/25 back home vs. Besiktas.
Plenty of time for the team to continue to gel vs. lighter competition.
Good match and start to the second half of the season!

If I could trade Robinson for Mihajlovic on the American squad, I would do that with out a seconds hesitation. And that’s that on that.

USA has too many OH2s, not much OH1. I would too, but that’ll be harsh for Kelsey. 😩
