Only one current MLB team has never made it to the WS.
Sad.

perhaps. But it took the Nationals (expos) 50 years to make it so the only team not to make it still has 8 years to go. Other teams with significant droughts: Pittsburgh - last appearance 1979 Milwaukee - 1982 Baltimore - 1983 Cincinnati - 1990 Oakland - 1990 Minnesota - 1991 Toronto - 1993 Only one current MLB team has never made it to the WS. Sad.

Watching the Yankees choke a good season (sigh) Hardly a "choke". The Astros are the best team in baseball. Wow, it wasn't too long ago that the Astros were being ridiculed as "the best AAA team in the country" and losing 100 games in three straight years. Now look at them.

As a Yankees fan, anything short of a WS title is a failure. Specially after "watching" the Yankees squander so many scoring opportunities in the first 5 innings. Seems like a lot of them are trying to be the "Hero", going for the homer by swinging on the first pitch only to fly or ground out. Pitching has been the Yankees' Achilles heel for many years. BUT, Cashman always went for the hitters and not much on pitchers. Losing Germain to domestic abuse did hurt the rotation, but its the right call to remove him. Thought AJ Happ found his rhythm towards the end of the season only to find him in the bullpen was a bit weird. Eh, may not have to worry after tomorrow.

Were they "tanking" to get good players in the farm system? "Tanking" for the draft doesn't work in baseball. The draft is too unpredictable. What they did is what many other teams have tried to do -- they sold off their best players for as much minor league talent as they could get, slashed their payroll to almost nothing, brought up their best minor-leaguers and let them get experience playing (and mostly losing) in the majors, and then, once they started turning the corner on that, used all their now-available salary money to pick up the best free agents they could get. Also, with a team full of young players, they could afford to trade away their best remaining minor leaguers to fill in gaps, without having to worry about too many current players being too expensive to re-sign.

Nothing makes me feel better than the Yankees losing, even if it's in the World Series.
Nothing except the laughter of a baby. And pie. And beating Stanford.
